Overview
About Me
My name is Yiannis and i am from Greece, eventhough i have been living in England since October, 2017. I am a filmmaker student who likes reading books, watching movies and spending quality time with friends. I used to be very invested in what i was studing, in a point it drained me and lost my enthusiasm and my objective. But this is when traveling came in to my life. For the last three years, i was blessed to travel across Europe and experience amazing things, through the people i met. I am in a stage in my life, i am trying to re-evalute what matters to me and what kind of filmmaker i want to be.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When i was first introduced to Couchsurfing, it was presented to me as a convinient way of traveling. When i started using it, i realised it was much much more than that. Eventhough my experience with the platform is short, i had the oportunity to meet some great people and through them ,discover many great hidden places, amazing people and collect memories i will cherish forever.
Travelling can have a healing affect on you. It defenately made me a better person and through couchserfing i believe i have the opportunity to keep evolving but also giving to other people as well! There is a vibrant commumity here and i would love to be part of it!

Music, Movies, and Books
When it comes to movies, "Children of Men" will always have a special place in my hart. "Blade Runner" , "Arrival" , "Captain Fantastic", "Me and Earl and the Dying Girl", "Inside Out" , "Sunset Boulevard" , "Brick" , "Pan's Labyrinth. Different movies, from different genres and eras, each and every one of them means something different.
When i started reading as kid, Enid Blyton's mystery books where the first i fell in love with. Then i discovered "Harry Potter" and it happened again. Since then i've read a lot of them. Corman McArthys' "The Road" , "A Monster Calls" by Patric Ness, "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" by Stephen Chbosky , "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events" are some of my favourite!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last October, i kind of put my life as i knew it on hold and moved to England, for a ten month volunteering programme in the middle of the Forest of Dean, in Gloucestershire! Since then i have been living in a community for the first time, in a beautiful place away from the noice of a city centre. So far, it is a life defining experience!
What I Can Share with Hosts
This year and until August, i am staying in a shared house, owned by the organisation i work for. As a result i am not allowed to host anyone! I truly hope that after i relocate, i will be able to find a place where i can host people again!
