About Me

I'm a fun loving person who loves new experiences and learning new skills. I love music and play multiple musical instruments. I also write and compose music (I feel like there's a difference haha). I have too many interests to name, but I love adventure of all sorts. I'm a black belt in Taekwondo, and also have several years experience in Kung fu and kickboxing. I'm a reasonably intelligent person who enjoys the right serving size of academia. Speaking of serving size, though I love adventure, I am kind of a picky eater which I am working to overcome. I love videos games. I'm kind of a party animal, but not the unstable lose control of himself kind, I just like to have a good time. I have a religious background, and while I no longer identify with the religion itself, it has definitely made me a somewhat spiritual person. In general, I love life and intend to get the best out of mine.

Music, Movies, and Books

As far as favorite music goes, I love many styles and genres. I play many musical instruments and have studied music in depth, so of course I have an appreciation for the classic powerhouses like Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, and many others (some more than others...). I'm also a huge fan of metal, indie and alt rock, party music (techno, drum and bass, dubstep, chillstep, etc.), and really most other music as I said before. I also spend a lot of time listening to orchestral/piano arrangements of awesome video game and film music. Even music that may not be exactly my cup of coffee I can usually enjoy.

Here's a list of some timeless favorites that come to mind, but these by no means sum up the big picture of what I like:
Tool, Incubus, Killswitch Engage, Ratatat, Nobuo Uematsu, Buckethead, Chopin, Coldplay (nostalgia, OK! I'm not proud of it :P).....

I do enjoy watching movies and have seen and enjoy many, but these days I don't watch many new ones because if I'm going to be staring at a screen for several hours, I'd rather be playing a video game haha.

I grew up on fantasy fiction like the Harry Potter series, The Lord of the Rings (along with The Hobbit and several of the painfully difficult to read additions to the canon), and The Seven Songs of Merlin Trilogy. Slaughterhouse Five is probably my favorite fiction novel, but these days I tend to read mostly nonfiction, usually philosophical or religious like Schopenhauer's The World as Will and Representation, The Book on the Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are by Alan Watts, and of course the Dao de Jing, just to name a few.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I would say that scuba diving 300 feet into a pitch black cave with flashlights 110 feet underwater and using air pockets in the cave's ceiling to breathe and talk without equipment was a pretty awesome experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn new skills and would be open to trying anything. As far as teaching goes, I can teach several different musical instruments and music theory itself, and have had successful students on piano, drums, and guitar. I will (of course!) share a good time and can offer some financial contribution to any guidance that is offered, though none is required.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A good time? A jam session? A sparring match?
