Overview
About Me
I’m Yonglin, also Richard is fine. I'm typically a Beijing-style boy but my parents are the minority in China and their mother language is Korean so I think I was raised in a multicultural environment.
In 2018 I relocated to Tallinn, Estonia to start a new life. I came here to study the Estonian language and culture as a master's degree. Also, work here.
I want to experience different lifestyles in the world. I graduated from college with a statistics degree and then work at PwC as a consultant. After 3 months I found myself uncomfortable staying in a small office then I quit and work as a freelance copywriter and a travel blogger.
In 2016 I got an opportunity to work in Zimbabwe as a tour guide and found it really fascinating to me.
Starting in 2018, I ended up living in Estonia till now and genuinely fall in love with this hidden country!
Unfortunately, I can't take urgent request as I want to have more time with my guest, instead of offering a place to sleep only. Please send your request at least several days before your trip, it's not a free hostel.
What else? LGBT+ friendly

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting people in different country and share different opinions with them. Embracing different opinions from the world gives me a new perspective to look at myself and my country and helps me to be more neutral.
Interests
Travel, photography
I love drinking with people. It's nice after a little bit drunk and then we share our stories to each other!
When traveling, a must-go place for me is the cemetery. I like the peace and silence in the graveyard, which helps me focus and deep thinking.
Also, I have a regular updated blog in Chinese social media. If you don't mind, I could write about your stories in Chinese and share with my followers

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Trying my best to help as many travellers as I can to offer a better experience when they visit cities I've lived in, Beijing, Tallinn, Vic Falls... You name it!
Teach, Learn, Share
I speak Chinese, English and a little Korean. Learning Italian and Estonian.
I can share my stories about travelling, cook Chinese food if I have time, and talk about life philosophy together.
I value people who respect the spirit of CS rather than only looking for free accommodation.
What I Can Share with Hosts
If you are interested in Chinese culture I'm happy and pleased to share what Chinese people actually think about our culture or politics or anything you want to know.
Also, I can talk about my travel experience and life in other countries. I didn't visit many countries yet, but I do have highlight stories for each country ;)
Since I came to Estonia to learn about the culture, I’ve learned a lot about Estonia. I can tell you my personal opinions if you are interested.
When I'm free, I can give you a free walking tour in Tallinn as I used to be a tour guide here, and it's literally FREE.
