About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to sew a men's suit.

ABOUT ME

Oh hey! I'm Wendy and I'm making pancakes as I fill this out. Or am I? I should be! I live in gorgeous Fairfield, Idaho, a stop for many Snowkiters during the winter! I spent most of my life living in Colorado, including Greeley and Denver. I am an artist of many genres, including photography, making robots that don't work and things to do with fibers (cloth, felt, etc.) I'm also a sparsely published writer working on a novel. Who knows when that will be finished...certainly not by the time the pancakes are done.I have two cats, including Charles who is a mild celebrity within a 5 block area. He's had his own brand of local catnip and people like to bring him souvenirs from their travels. Dee Dee, the other cat prefers to escape the limelight but enjoys towels, quilts and fresh laundry. She will also try to steal french fries. U jbiq giq ri nJW RG (oh whoops, I looked out the window) What I was trying to say is that I'm a foodie and love to cook for people. I make a fabulous coffee (I'm also a trained barista) and the perfect cup of tea. Please help yourself to the candy dish on the table. Hmmm. What else? Feel free to ask any questions at the help desk (i.e. send me a message by all means!)

PHILOSOPHY

I wear an invisible helmet and cape because sometimes I fly and sometimes I crash. But at least I have no regrets.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Still a bit new to the site but I have recently hosted and surfed for the first time! It was an amazing experience and I can't wait to do more of both!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Again, I'm still new to the site but the little experience I have had has really opened my eyes to what a positive community this is. I love all the fun people and memories I have collected already! Okay, I don't collect people but you get the idea! :D

Interests

Wow. It would be easier to put what I don't enjoy doing. Stomping through snow, crunchy leaves, riding my vintage adult trike that my neighbor rebuilt, listening to music, going to see live music, having a coffee, having a beer, having some wine, photography, art, laughing, chit-chatting, contemplating owning a goat, oh look! I have another tote bag!, getting mail, writing mail, rolling up Katamari balls, frolicking at the local brewery my friend owns, owls, crows, recording my voice on my iPhone, hula-hooping, smelling produce, sneezing, collecting neato toys AND MORE!

Music, Movies, and Books

Gah! So many of all three of these things! I like to listen to new music, old music, spontaneous music, smart music, dumb music, etc. I love records but don't have as many as I like. I like noises like bubbles popping. That's definitely music.Movies are ...wonderful. Except Spiderman 3. We don't talk about that. I am bummed I didn't get to see the new Muppet Movie in theatres. I couldn't go because I turned my ankle and had my gallbladder out within like a few days. Bill Murray and I aren't married yet, surprisingly. Books are our friends and you can dog ear the pages. Unless you're borrowing a book, then you check with the owner on this. I love all types of books but hate when there's a map in a book. I won't use it. I can't even use a real map, let alone a map to an imaginary place.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just one? Well. I met David Sedaris, who is one of my heroes, and he doodled an Abraham Lincoln turtle inside the book I was waiting to have signed. He also gave me a butterscotch disc. That was pretty epic. Also, I saw this guy wearing a pointy green felt hat leading a goat around downtown Denver. That was also epic.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach/share:*How to felt an owl*Which door not to lock in my house*My experiences as an Epileptic (mostly under control...no cure yet, so you know, it happens but it's not crazy)*How to make a solvent transfer*Which dare to take and which to not*How to use what glue for which project*My many corny jokes*How to make a sammich/will share a sammichAnd...don't use my Mom's toaster. It's ancient.
