My girlfriend Julia and I use Couchsurfing for trips we go together and therefore maintain this profile together. Having Russian origin, I am from Saint-Petersburg and Julia is from mid-Russian town called Orenburg, we are settled in Finland and have wide international experience.

We are both engineers, very curious couple. I am a rock-n-roll dancer and maintain the rock-n-roll club in Finland and Julia is a tennis player. We alternate between different vacation types: beach, hiking, sightseeing, sport, but we are always excited to learn local language, cuisine, culture specialties. Local breakfast is our main attraction during the first days, it is the main meal of the day for us both. So we always appreciate the advice from locals particularly on that!

Couchsurfing is a great opportunity to get the feeling how locals live and meet new amazing inspirational people, to get ideas and a charge from them for a new destination and trips!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Julia had several trips with Couchsurfing with her friends and each of them happened to be an amazing adventure meeting very inspirational people, starting up new hobbies and getting ideas for life. We have also hosted few people from Switzerland, Germany and France and it was amazing to re-discover with them the place where you actually live the everyday life.

Therefore, we look at Couchsurfing as on the experience sharing opportunity. Remember, a friend is a person you can learn from!
