Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I always enjoy being in a real house with real people rather than hotels and also hosting guests and showing them around my favorite hidden treasures. If you are in Boston, I have quite a few to share. I love sharing great places which are not on the tourist drag with visitors and enjoying them myself.

Interests

social justice and environment
art - impressionists, modern, deco, arts and crafts era, mid-century design
reading
cinema
design
gardening/permaculture
making stuff from other stuff, recycling old into new life

Music, Movies, and Books

art - impressionists, modern, deco, arts and crafts era, mid-century design, lots more.
reading literature - just read the latest Barbara Kingsolver book, really love it. The woman is an amazing writer who can take a subject and really make it sing. So far I have really enjoyed and also cherished all the books by her. Truly an amazing philosopher and great social discourse - always in the mix in her books.
music [jazz, blues, some classical, musical theater, American songbook, some current pop]; cinema - indy, artsy, classical, basically everything except zombie and scary stuff.
Comedy - in two languages, English and Russian.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Came to US in the early '70s. Had two great kids and they are real human beings now.
