About Me
If you are looking for dates, go use a dating app. I am friendly and open to chat but I have zero patience for rudeness or sexism. Also, I won't reply to generic copy-pasted messages – I'm only interested in genuine conversations.
Hey there, my name is Yumeng. I'm originally from Hangzhou, China – think dreamy lakes/wet lands, tea plantations, and a whole lot of poems and history.
After trading in my bike for a plane ticket (jk), I ended up in the US for college. Fast forward a bunch of years, I’ve called Seattle, the Bay Area, and now NYC (Brooklyn) home.
I love exploring both the world and within myself. I’m fascinated by psychology and almost all the social sciences. Spending time with my lovely friends, getting lost in a good story whether through books, movies, or podcasts are my ways to recharge. Also I am addicted to hot yoga.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Over the past few years, I've grown increasingly fond of solo travel. While traveling with friends is a blast, exploring alone allows me to fully immerse myself in new environments and cultures, and opening up the opportunities to interact with locals and discover unexpected adventures!
For me, the essence of travel lies not in ticking off famous landmarks or indulging in renowned eateries, but in connecting with diverse people and cultures. Sharing life stories and gaining fresh perspectives are what truly fill my heart.
The concept of Couchsurfing is so captivating to me. The idea of meeting people open to welcoming strangers into their homes and sharing their lives in exchange for hospitality is incredibly inspiring. I aspire to become one of those welcoming hosts someday.
