About Me
Hello! I'm Zach and I am currently back home in Asheville, NC for a few months.
I’ve been traveling and working between Europe, the United States, Southeast Asia and Australasia for the past four years and while things can get to be a bit intense with work and travel combined, life is so good right now! I am musician, integrative manual therapist and former adventure cycling guide. I’ve done extensive training in Osteopathic Manual Therapy and worked full time with clients in the states, but have since shifted my focus more to teaching workshops on functional movement, while seeing clients on a limited basis in the cities I teach my workshops in.
I also taught Stress Management and Personal Development at a large university in North Carolina after graduating with my bachelors degree back in 2016 and I loved it, but the university setting felt a bit too rigid for me so I decided to break away and share my work in different capacities. I’ve been playing music since I was young and my main instruments are guitar, bass, most percussion instruments, saxophone and keys, but I’m always learning new instruments and plan to dive into the study of West African music (hoping to learn the Kora someday) and would also love to deepen my understanding of Brazilian guitar. Since I have been on the road a lot lately, I am not able to host guests as often as I’d like to, but I love hosting so if our paths cross at the right time, I'll do my best to help you find a place to stay! As your guest, I'm happy to help out around the house with cooking, cleaning, or anything else that's needed.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing has created some of the most remarkable experiences for me - both hosting and surfing. I love the idea of getting to know people while I travel. I've traveled mostly as a solo traveler and it's my preferred way of seeing the world because it inspires me to start conversations with people I may otherwise never have the opportunity to meet. I truly value human interaction and I love getting to know people. I'm a helper at heart, so I'm always happy to have people stay and I'll do what I can to make sure you have a good time while you're in town.

Music, Movies, and Books
It’s hard to pick a favorite genre of music and I play many instruments so my music taste varies widely. I'm also an avid reader so I always have a book in the mix. Some of my favorite authors are Charles Eisenstein, Paulo Coelho, James Redfield, Dan Millman, John Upledger and Eckhart Tolle.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Left a stable career (twice) to pursue a more meaningful life path
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: My favorite things to teach about are related to the human body. I love sharing tips on functional movement and pain relief via stretches and exercises to balance the body. Learn: Anything and everything! I love learning and I'm always open to what people like to share.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Music lessons, physiotherapy tips and techniques for you to use with each other and a listening ear!
