Hello! Welcome! I’m Zach a writer/filmmaker/dj originally from Sydney but currently existing in Northern Vietnam. I am a very lucky boy these days because I can work from wherever.

Recently friends have told me that I don’t have any ‘roots’ because I’m a traveller and because I’m from Australia. I don’t really know what they mean. But I’m curious to learn about the different kinds of roots other people have. And in the meantime I will just enjoy meeting cool people, my writing, being busy in cities, lounging on the beach, hiking, museums, galleries, animals, live music, reading, films and whatever you’re into.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I heard that it’s a great way to meet nice people.

I have just started properly using ‘Couchsurfing’ the app but I have done it before in Asia and the Americas. It’s pretty cool! And I know how to be normal and respectful of people’s homes. One day I will host.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I shot a documentary with a friend in Bangladesh last year about love and conflict. We are now editing and I don’t know how it will turn out but the experience at the time was definitely amazing.

Conversation, myself and my ears mostly. I write philosophy and have a background in the social sciences but I love learning about whatever you know anything about. I can talk about music, films and books for dayys. I’m also pretty good in the kitchen but I can’t promise you Australian food because that’s not really a thing ;)
