Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I was born for a limpid day.
ABOUT ME
I am primarily a book lover and humanist (not like human subjectivity is the foundation for being kind of thing, but more like preserving doctrines of reasoned discourse, human dignity, irreducibility of the individual etc.). I love people; from their deeper moments, through their carelessly fun moments, and for the moments that the intricacies of their faces are missed. I've never traveled before (never really had the means to do so) but I recently was awarded a big scholarship for philosophy that has given me the means to travel--I can't wait to see the world. I am not all abstraction and philosophy, I do love literature and the weather. If it means anything to you,I think it is telling that my favorite writer is Albert Camus (!) I am primarily concerned with living... I want to have live my life in every instant.
PHILOSOPHY
Although I am still far from this kind of interior understanding of myself, with profound respect for its significance I have sought to preserve my individuality.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am new to the community, but plan to do my best to preserve its sanctity
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I don't have any experience yet, but I am working on it.
Interests
Philosophy (one might say I am VERY interested). My baptismal father into the realm of thought was Albert Camus, but that being said my God-father must be Nietzsche.
Literature, typically modern era French and Italian.
Friendship--I hold that chief among the virtues is gratitude but friendship is a close second.
People! People interest me to no end--I am almost certain I could hold a conversation (meaningful or otherwise) with anyone will to talk.
Coffee, I am a barista and love espresso
Aesthetics, I am particularly interested in the way the world expresses its various moods.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: The Human Condition, The Dreamers, Jean-Luc Godard, The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, The Tin Drum, Modern Times, Alphaville, SYNECDOCHE NEW YORK, The Winter light, Woe is me.
Music: I am pretty versatile, but I mostly listen to Bob Dylan (everything before blood on the tracks) and 60's to 70's soul music (like Stax records).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've seen what it means to be loving and grateful, and the profundity of human care.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you have any questions concerning any given philosopher's world-view I can help! I specialize in Value-distribution, aesthetics, existentialism, phenomenology, and philosophy of literature. But I can totally speak with some authority about ethics, metaphysics and epistemology.
I can give great novel recommendations!
Also being human and rather sensitive, I can maybe provide some insight into a tough situation one might be in, or at least be there for you to lean on.
