Have a space in Glasgow now! Happy to host people and I miss cs and the people from CS! I traveled a lot in 2021/2022, but right now I guess I’m focusing on my work and sort my life out. Find it hard to go through everything so just gonna do some updates here: I have now graduated ! Working doing trip planning and design work now, also enjoy spending time in my studio when I’m not working.

I really want to find a creative community in Europe and move there for some time! Preferably near mountains🦦

Hii it's Amy, I was born in Shanghai and moved to study in Edinburgh at 16, I'm now studying at Glasgow School of Art. I didn't stay in the UK the entire time, I had moved back and forth many times, constantly moving. ..I was also back in China for 2 years before college life begins. Now based in Glasgow, Scotland, a place very down to earth. I'm majoring in sculpture and environmental art. :)
In general, I'm an easy-going and happy person. I could be quiet ( if I want to have some own precious time) and sometimes I'm very hyped if I'm in a really good mood or excited about something. I might be slow at the beginning haha.
I appreciate honesty so I hope you are an honest person as well.
If we get to meet it must be some beautiful fate between us!

Besides, I enjoy being in nature, outside, sunbathing, cycling, hiking, climbing, horseriding, dogs, animals, trees. I love all of them. :)
Adventures I'm coming. There are so many possibilities for life, I'm not too certain about mine yet but I'm seeking.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First heard from a friend, then I did some research.
I want to meet people! I want to connect with people from the world! It's all about it, for me, what matters is what we do, what conversations we have and who we are with, I'm curious about what I don't know yet. In my previous life, I have travelled with family and friends, but when we go to a new place, if we don't get to meet the local people, then it feels like we are purely just visitors, still an outsider.
I'm happy to be more open to people and cultures.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Climbed my first snow mountain in 2019 - Haba snow mountain in Yunnan, China -Altitude 5396m, collaborated on a documentary film of my climbing
- walking the camino del notre in Spain ( 11 days)
- created a community art project - artpicnic, of creative workshops in parks with children last year, also had many written documents and videos of it. Since 2020 I discovered my passion for kids and teaching perhaps, that summer I joined as a counsellor at a British summer camp in SH. We had wonderful memories, tears and laughs.

Teach, Learn, Share

languages - As I said I'm passionate about teaching and learning of course! I started learning Spanish during covid, mostly self-taught and learning from online tutors. language is beyond language, you get to learn their culture, you get to understand more of the world and people, if I can't speak the language of the place I'm travelling or living, I find it very distant from the real people and culture as it's only my perspective and my observations. We can share our perceptions in terms of language learning and stories.
if you are interested, we can probably try to do some creative art sessions. I'm quite spontaneous about this, I like new ideas, we can do what comes to my mind at the moment. ..
And of course, anything you are interested in about me, my culture, my country or the place I lived the people I met and more...
Sports - I'm interested in every type of sport! Recently wanted to learn boxing, football, and climbing. I practised some Taekwondo for a few years. Interested in dancing too - happy to learn dances from other cultures.
food- I enjoy delicious food, despite turning into veggie last year have caused the reduction of my appetite. I can be adapted to all kinds of cuisine. It'd be great if we get to cook together.
