ABOUT ME

The yacht (this is the couch) is still on around the world tour (circumnavigation) and she will call in to many great places on her way around the globe. Right now in Kudat, sabah on Borneo en route to, Kota Kinabalu and to Brunei. Depends on what suits you the best. You could also jump on and off the yacht in any port of call, where change of crew is permitted by the local regulation. Long term plans are to sail east coast of Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam all the way to Macau and Hong Kong. Later on back to Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, across the Indian Ocean to South Africa, Atlantic to South America, Central America, Caribbean, North America and many, many more places on the way. I do not have any exactly itinerary plan, I go more with the flow, just winds and weather dictate when I can come and when I have to go away. I like to stay a bit longer if I like a place, always safety first. The yacht is a great ocean going catamaran, designed by a one of the best catamaran naval architects from Australia, built in Holland in Aluminium and designed for comfy accommodations (4 double cabins, 2 heads, 2 showers). Now she is on her second trip around the world. The equipment on board is extensive, refitted and well maintained. The boat is a very comfortable cruising cat with all the amenities and lots of equipment, she also has the latest in safety and technology gear.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It is pretty hard to organise to have a couch available aboard a sailing yacht, that there is no Internet being a problem. However, when near a connection my details will be updated and if you are in the area a few days cruising locally is all fun, welcome aboard. If you like to sail for a longer trip or passage, just contact me and we will find a way.

Interests

Obviously I love to travel and sail and think sailing is the ideal way to explore the world! I enjoy a great variety of activities especially water sports. Scuba diving (a dive compressor and all the dive gear is on board) is my favourite but I also love free diving, snorkelling, fishing and swimming. I like to hike and explore new places and cultures. I enjoy a bit of cooking and eating well.
