Overview
About Me
I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like most! I enjoy cooking, I like to bring the world into my kitchen, trying exotic ingredients and exquisite new dishes. I also love dancing different styles of dance, art and painting!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
So that I can meet wonderful people when I travel to wonderful places! I really love traveling. The idea of meeting new people, learning about their culture, their country and their everyday life interests me a lot. Couchsurfing gives me the opportunity to meet amazing people and explore their city through their eyes. I would like to show you around my city while I'm listening to some of your craziest stories! :D Can't wait to meet you guys!
Music, Movies, and Books
I believe that music is an integral part of contemporary culture worldwide, that's why I enjoy listening to multiple genres of music (depending on my mood of course). Regarding movies, I enjoy watching cartoons and comedies. I also like romance, action, adventure but I'm not really keen to horror and thrillers :S. I absolutely love to read, but I have trouble when it comes to studying science :P. I like to read many sorts of books. When I need to escape, my favorites are fantasy literature, including children's books, love stories and murder mysteries.
My favorite quote is:
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed
by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines.
Sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore. Dream. Discover.”
- Mark Twain
"Dance upon the shark's fin"
- Nikos Kavvadias
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Swimming at the Acheron river which according to the Ancient Greek mytholodgy was known as the "river of woe", and was one of the five rivers of the Greek underworld, an otherworld where souls go after death; Hiking until the top of the Vikos Gorge in the Pindus Mountains of northern Greece, which is listed as the deepest gorge in the world by the Guinness Book of Records; Sleeping on the streets of Milan for a night; Watching the most beautiful sunset on Piazza del Popolo in Rome; Traveling through Romania (from Săcueni to Bucharest) by overnight train for 15h; Riding a camel, stargazing, sleeping in a tent, playing at the sand dunes and dancing around a bonfire the songs of the soul coming from African drums; Falling in love with the Andalusian culture, flamenco music and (free :P) tapas in Granada; Ηitchhiking at a small village outside Brighton at Christmas night; Experiencing New year's eve in Stonehaven, Scotland, where I almost burnt my self playing with fireballs (that's a joke, I was doing it like a pro :P); Nude swimming in the Mediterranean Sea; Moroccan road trip to explore the secrets and beauties of Morocco; Eating the biggest breakfast ever while being in Smyrna, Turkey (I'm telling you, Turkish breakfast is an amazing experience indeed); Standing on an old almost broken wooden floating bridge plank to enjoy the waves and the feeling of cold air of the Baltic Sea when in Poland; Meeting the Barbary macaques monkey family in Gibraltar which is the only wild monkey population on the European continent.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach you some basic words in Greek and show you how to cook some delicious Greek food recipes! I could also teach you some basic bachata and salsa dance steps :D
I'm always willing to learn new things!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can mainly share embarrassing stories, bad jokes and a meal that will make you close your eyes, lean back, and whisper "yesss!" - just kidding, I'm not that good at cooking, but I promise I'll try my best! -
Apart from that, I can share my toothpaste or a pair of socks if you need it :P
