Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite book is the Walking Drum by Louis L'Amour as it is what piqued my interest in the Middle East!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
While on a community development trip in Vietnam, I went whitewater rafting in Dalat. The river was amazing and in the middle of it I even went down a 21 ft waterfall which was quite a new experience for me! I love kayaking and so this was an amazing opportunity to raft in another country.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach how to unicycle, juggle, speak/write better English, how to speak/write a little Arabic, and I can solve many computer problems and teach how to use Worpdress, HTML, and CSS.
I love learning all languages, from Arabic to Spanish to Swahili to Chichewa, language fascinates me. I am also a huge fan of object manipulation and learning new tricks. And learning of other cultures is a huge component in my life as I have an innate love for learning about the way others live their lives.
I always enjoying life philosophies and visions with other people. I am learning that everyone has a unique story to tell and that there is much to gain by listening to other's experiences and goals. I am passionate about international community development and so by sharing experiences with others I can learn more about their experiences and perspective on the country of interest while sharing the perspective that I have gradually developed.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am a very amiable individual that loves meeting new people. Like I listed above, I can teach several niche talents, but I am more than happy to help my hosts with a little work around their place with anything I can do. While surfing is "free," I realize that the host is doing me a huge favor and so I will try to do what I can to payback my host in help and being a surfer that doesn't mooch.
