About Me

I have a well traveled modest unusual life, plain wrapper.

Growing up I remember the grasping of people around me. I didn't want any part of it. I like that decision.

Punctual, but I have learned that going a bit faster gets there not much sooner.

I enjoy urban or the middle of nowhere.

Patient, but I seize the moment rather than wait for the perfect wave.

Have worked in many nonprofits: volunteer, founder, van driver, executive director, president, floor sweeper.

The insights and inoculations of travel come with long and repeated use, not small doses.

Disinclined to speak negatively — except of politicians — and drivers.

Tidy and clean to avoid displeasure and as good mental health. But not attached to appearances.

Love to walk, love to hike. Love outdoors and mountains and views and sunshine and water and winter.

Vegetarian, feminist, queer

I teach yoga, perhaps not what comes to mind: no groups, no spandex. I teach one-on-one, very relaxed and customized to the student.

I garden for people, no lawn mower; just me and my tools and the plants. It's nice and the results are well liked.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We can choose together a gentle intensity of getting to know each other different from our everyday.

I will sit there, together with you, walk with you, travel with you, and be quietly open.

Without expectations and also without limitations. Begin as I wish to continue.

I keep getting better at this. But like all of us, I can get stuck in the everyday, and forget this gentle intensity. Please reach out and remind me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Stockholm

I keep changing in ways I did not expect. It's delightful. And wonderful. And makes me eager to receive more. And unlearn more. And change more.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: yoga and meditating and massage and moving and feeling good
https://yoga-tutor.com

Learn: You and your place.

I welcome connection in any gentle guided movement. Words I use like a good singer with a bad voice; words are not my favorite except when they enable.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Like to go for walks together
Love to get into nature together

Very good house guest, experienced. Relaxed. I grew up as both a traveler and a host.

Clean and tidy, pick up after myself

Helpful

Good company
easy to talk with, good conversation,
also enjoy warm companionable silence

I do this well. I give to you my focus on our doing it well together.

I do sit and talk well. I can talk too much when excited by you. Please remind me of that. I take correction well. Ask my present thoughts rather than let me lapse into my too well worn anecdotes. Or ask me to guide you in yoga.

I also do warm silence together well.

Best I connect in doing together. Let me help you work out a muscle bothering you. Let's go together to a wonderful place you haven't been in a while. Let's explore a place you've always wanted to go. Relax. Explore. Talk. Connect.
