About Me

Maybe I shall put sth more in here later..

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to see the world and meet interesting people all over the world! Because I want to be free. That's like the most obvious answer, isn't it?

Interests

I'm a huge fan of out-of-mainstream cinema, and I love film festivals! I've been to Berlinale Filmfestspiele this year, but my absolute favourite festiwal is Nowe Horyzonty in Wroclaw, Poland. I'm also a compulsive music listener and discoverer, so I work at a non-profit University's radio station. I sing, used to be in a band, but it all didn't work out yet - we all are studying Technology so we have really limited time...

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to many different kinds of music. And I love when my friends send me music I don't know yet, I'm open to new genres, well, almost all of them. But it's getting harder and harder to surprise me! The band that had the biggest impact on my previous year was Talking Heads. I also wouldn't make it without DARKSIDE and Joy Division.. Which reminds me of a great film about West Berlin I've recently seen, called B-MOVIE..
I guess my favourite movie of all is The Graduate. My secret favourite movie is Stealing Beauty, and I also really liked Le Locataire. My favourite director is yet Roman Polanski, though I also looovee Wim Wenders, David Lynch, Philippe Garrell!!!.. I watch lots of movies when I'm on festivals, and I wanted to become a movie critic, but I am just too emotional and still cry every time a character in a movie's crying.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Mmm I've been to Sahara Desert :) But nah, that's not really it.
I guess my biggest achievement so far was: to watch "2001: The Space Odyssey" and not die of a heart attack.
I'm still waiting for this big thing to come, though.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my cooking skills.. Which are not universal, though. I will be happy to share a joke, to go out together, to play music with you (I'm a vocalist, but also a used-to-be violinist and a one-day-to-be a drummer).. I also can talk about cinema and music, my two big passions, for hours and hours...
I teach english, so if you don't feel your language is fluent enough, maybe I can help :)
Maybe I will be able to share a bed in my flat in Warsaw from time to time.
