Overview
About Me
I am a Polish girl who has been strongly influenced by the American way of keeping an open mind, Chinese idea of self-work, and Danish approach to living life fully :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In my opinion, couchsurfing is a great idea for everybody who loves to travel, and for those who simply need a place to stay and doesn't want to spend all their tour money on an accomodation issue. At this time I am a student and living in a shared flat makes it difficult for me to help the other couchsurfers, however, in the future I will surely propagate this awesome idea and support it with all my strength.
Interests
I have always had a strong urge for adventuring, learning about all kinds of animals, and studying languages. I also extrememly enjoy meeting new people and simply geting to know them. :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Everything that catches my ear, from balkan folk, through the singable pop songs to synthwave or even more punkish tones :) My top three bands of past years are: Gorillaz, Trevor Something and all the wonderful pieces put together by Joe Hisaishi.
Books: Fantasy (as it turns out I am most familiar with the Polish authors), thriller (Sebastian Fitzek's everything!), zoological books, comic books (Thorgal, the Witcher).
Movies: I am a huge fan of horrors (any really) and thrillers ("Die Tur", "Jagten", "Se7en"). However besides sitting on the edge of the chair I also enjoy a good laugh while watching a dark(ish) comedy ("Everything is illuminated", "Little Miss Sunshine", "The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared"). Besides the regular movie genres, I also have a warm spot for Hayao Miyazaki's wonderful animations and the never-disappointing Monty Python group's quirkiness :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In the second grade of primary school, I have learned about the giant panda for the very first time. I have also read about a research facility in Chengdu, China that is dedicated to making sure giant pandas disappear from the list of critically endangered species. Since then I've dreamt about getting there and helping the cause.
In 2018 I made my dream come true, got a scholarship in China, and finally went to Chengdu to visit the Panda Breeding Research Center. Pros? I never let go of my childhood dream and made it there as a grown-up. Cons? In 2018 a giant panda was taken off the endangered species list. Pros again? ...A giant panda was taken off the endangered species list! This is wonderful news, however, my purpose of serving the specific cause disappeared, so now I am busy looking for another long-term dream to let it take over me :) Still, getting there after such a long time was a wonderful feeling that definitely has brought fulfillment to the second-grade mini-me :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you the basics of both Chinese and Polish as long as you are willing to accept the challenge :D My biggest love, however, are animals of all colors and shapes. And so if you haven't heard of a mudskipper, a sunfish (that also goes by a fabulous binomial name of Mola mola), or a regal oarfish...then I am quite sure I can think of a few animal facts that you might find surprising :) Other binge-worthy subjects for me include the art of animation/illustration, sci-fi/horror movies, languages of all sorts, and.... things that you yourself are passionate about :) I do enjoy talking, but believe me, a spark in the interlocutor's eye can easily turn me into one giant ear ;)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am most eager to exchange some good stories/traveler's tales with anybody who is willing to do so :) I could also try to show my gratitude by preparing a meal (for any host that is brave enough to let me into their kitchen :D) I dare to say that I could probably think of some animal facts you might not have stumbled upon before, as well as share some Chinese knowledge :) For example, as an ancient, Confucian saying goes "三人行,必有我師焉" which translates to "If three people are walking together, one of them must be good enough to be my teacher." I strongly believe that everybody can learn something new from...quite literally anybody else. There are countless stories coming to life all around us, and I hope that after this brief introduction you give me a chance to become a part of yours. ^_^
