Hyderabad was established in the 16th century by a wealthy Muslim family, and that foundation gives the city a culture that is so unlike most others in India. Here, visitors can see as many mosques as Hindu temples, and the Muslim influence stretches into many facets of life here. Make your way to the Qutb Shahi Tombs or the Charminar, a monument and mosque that is one of India’s most recognizable landmarks. Then visit the Birla Mandir, a huge and impressive Hindu temple which sits atop an 85-meter hill and houses shrines to various Hindu gods and goddesses.

One of the top things to see in Hyderabad is the Golkonda Fort, where you can roam the sprawling ruins of a medieval fort that overlooks the city. Get an authentic Indian shopping experience at the Laad Bazaar, a market most renowned for it bangles of all designs and colors.
