ABOUT ME

Hi! We're Joanna and Peter.

We love to travel and seek out new things!
We are interested in meeting new people. We are very easy going people. We're comfortable playing card/board games all day or are up for an adventure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Our living room couch(futon) is open. We also have an air mattress you could use in an extra room upstairs or in the finished basement. You would have your own bathroom and shower in the basement. We have a large yard, so you can set up a tent if you want.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We had a wonderful couchsurfing experience in Chicago. Our host was nice enough to meet us at the train station and drive us to their house. She took us to a local Hawaiian bar and an authentic Chicago dog place! She helped us get around the city and cooked us breakfast every morning.

We want to pass on that hospitality to others.

Interests

We enjoy being outdoors: fishing, hunting, hiking, swimming, canoeing, wilderness camping, and just being in nature...we love it! Reading. Napping. Taking walks, and running. We like trying new beer, and going to breweries. Peters enjoys a day of brush clearing on the farm, taking his motorcycle out for a ride, and has an ever growing record collection. Joanna spends her time reading up on speech pathology, hunting through clothes and books at thrift stores for good finds, and reading on the porch overlooking the pond behind our house. She is also attempting to grow 2 gardens!

Movies:
LOTR, The Sound of Music, Office Space, Pixar movies, Star Wars, Back to the Future, The Godfather, Shawshank Redemption, Momento, Lucky Number Sleven, Life is Beautiful, etc.

Music:
Peter's favorite genres are classic rock and electronic, but his tastes range across the entire spectrum.

Joanna loves Billy Joel, Tom Petty, and Jim Croce. She also likes 80s /90s country including Alabama, Alan Jackson, and George Strait. She is usually up for pop.

Books: LOTR, The hobbit, The Help, Quiet, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, The Glass Castle, The Road, Arabian Nights, 1984, Johnny Got his Gun, Seabiscuit, Unbroken, Lost Horizon, Life with Father, Little Women, Last of the Mohicans, Dune, Alice in Wonderland, Pride and Prejudice, Bossypants, Frankenstein, Dracula, The Secret Life of Bees, Watership Down, Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn, and Harry Potter.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Growing up in St. Petersburg, Russia was an exciting childhood for Peter. He was able to travel throughout Russia and Europe as a kid and it shaped who he is today.

Joanna faced her paralyzing fear of heights riding in a gondola up to the west peak of Mt. Huashan in the Shaanxi province of China. It was incredible!

Teach, Learn, Share

We live in the beautiful, rolling hills of Southwestern WI and would love to take you on a hike or enjoy a campfire on our 40 acres of family land.
