Sobre mí

CURRENT MISSION

Exploring and eating my way around Italy!

ABOUT ME

I'm a pastry cook who loves local food and agriculture. I studied culinary arts in San Francisco before relocating to New York three years ago. Recently, my day job was working within a bean-to-bar chocolate company, and I spent my weekends working in my community garden. I'm currently living in Italy for four months, where I'm participating in the Rome Sustainable Food Project at the American Academy in Rome.

I am passionate about people, food, and enjoying life.

PHILOSOPHY

Always exercising patience, perseverance, acceptance, and laughter.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm looking for fun and interesting people to explore the food world with!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A few years ago a good friend I was traveling with in Europe had a Couchsurfing account and added me on as a bonus visitor. We met some awesome and interesting people in Scandinavia, and it was a great way to immerse ourselves in the culture. We stayed with a couple of hippies in Cophenhagen who showed us their family's sword collection and fed us amazing meals.

Intereses

Algo increíble que he hecho

I started a community garden with a bunch of strangers in a vacant lot in Brooklyn, and the hard work, determination, and sense of community was pretty amazing.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I've worked for various small food businesses and have gathered a little pile of knowledge on making cheese, yogurt, beer, chocolate, etc. I can also create pretty rad wedding cakes.

I'd love to learn anything and everything about handmade pottery, heritage plant varieties, and how to better understand my old film Minolta better.
