About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore our wonderous world; to laugh at ourselves, to create laughter in others, to share, to dream, to challange each day!

ABOUT ME

When we first met we immediately found out we had a shared passion for exploring the world; both in our backyard and in far-off, distant lands. Like our mission statement declares, we are a fun loving couple always in search of adventure! We are both virgo's so you can expect us to be totally obsessive compulsive 'color in-side the lines types'...(yeah right)! We do however love trying new experiences; we love food, tend to jump into new cultures and wear our hearts on our sleeves. We are both happiest when working hard on some project - either at work or on our own crazy experiments.
Oh... and we've been described as 'big' personalities and we think that's awesome because if you can't entertain..well, I guess there would be less smiles in the world!
we have recently added to our family with our wonderful rescue dog Kyna (Key-na)!

To sum it all up - We are two people in search of learning more about ourselves and the world around us.

We are non-smokers, but Michael won't say no to a good cigar ; )

PHILOSOPHY

Michael: I enjoy and agree with many ideas but in a nutshell, I beleive we are all born good...the goal is to maintain that goodness, embrace it, share it...overall compassion!
Generally, treat others and you wish others to treat you!

Sarah: Be Brave and Be Kind.

Interests

We love motorcycles and are both passionate riders, Sarah loves off-road and dual sport riding, and Michael has a soft spot for Classics and Cafe Racers! We both ride everything and have each owned several different bikes.

Sarah: reading, cooking, running, art, gardening, dancing... the list goes on and on! I love the outdoors and hiking is always a treat for me, even if I go every day. I'm currently leaning a lot about permaculture which I hope will transfer over to my hope to be involved in the humanitarian aid projects.

Music, Movies, and Books

Michael:
Sadly, I'm more of a book gone movie guy....it has been many moon since I found myself lost in a good book!
....but, Curious George is up there!
As for music, anything goes....
Cultural beats, indie rock, classical, jazz, rock, folk, Celtic, even some country ;)

Sarah: Total bookworm, on the average I have around 4 books on the go because I can never decide what I want to read more! Right now it's switching up between 'The Self Sufficient Life' by John Seymour, Lonely Planet- Ethiopia, some positive personal journey story I can'€™t remember the name of, and €˜'Woefield Farm Poultry Collective' a novel by a local author I'm really getting a kick out of! And poor Michael would be reading this great book about the Dead Sea Scrolls but we had to leave it behind at our last house-sitting adventure.
My favorite movies: To many to list!
Books: Out of Africa, Papillon, Shantaram, Popular Mechanics Household Repair Guide (cuz you can never get enough skillz), Harry Potter (because 450 million copies can'€™t be wrong) and Adventure motorcycling handbook.
Music: is good.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We have more than one... couldn't decide, and hey... let the list grow!

Sarah: Seeing the cape of good hope in South Africa, Riding my motorcycle on the Baja 1000 route in Mexico, Seeing the stone and mud Villages in Konso, Ethiopia, hitch-hiking from Venice to Croatia!

Michael:
Three days on a cammel accross the western Saqqara.
Stowaway on a commercial freighter accross the juttland sea.
Exploring the tombs in the kings valley by flashlight.
Participating on archiological digs in Switzerland and Turkey.
Jumping out of a plane at 10,000 feet.
Walking across wales in November from swansea to snowdonia.
Holding the hand of a soul as it leaves us.

Teach, Learn, Share

Sarah:
I used to me a member of the Canadian Biathlon Team, so I can teach cross-country skiing to anyone that wants to learn - season permitting : ) I am a really good Indian food cook, and have an avid interest in medicinal plants, so I'd love to share that with anyone who is curious about the subject although I'm no expert I'd like to discuss and to share what I know! I'm pretty objective and analytical so if you need to clean-up an idea or goal of any type I'm a good person to come to for kneading it out.

Michael: I'm a vintage motorcycle enthusiast. Love history and geography and good conversation. I'm great at getting new groups of strangers laughing and reviling in each others company, whatever path or walk of life they may come from. I'm a calm person in stressful situations and conflicts and a good mediator. Not sure if that last fact will come in useful for somebody but hey, you never know. I'm a good motorcycle rider and Sarah is too, so we can give lessons both on and off road to willing adrenalin junkies ;)
