About Me
Hello there!
I am a young woman passionate about travelling and discovering cultures. My interests in travelling are the people, the history, the landscapes (obviously) and the architecture in the old cities.
In everyday life, I am a social worker and my specialities are with womens victims of domestic violence and with people who suffer from mental illnesses. I really enjoy my job even if it's not always easy to work close to a big human distress; I hope I can do a small difference in their life.
This year (2015), to celebrate my first university degree, I did a gift "to me, from me" : I will travel to Portugal, Germany and Scottland. I can't wait to be there and discover these countries.
I hope I will find some hosts who will be able to welcome me and, if it's possible, who will have the time to show me their favorite places in town!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To have the chance to meet locals and to discover their country and their best places in town with them. I don't think we are visiting truely a place when we are staying in a "golden room" of a hostel.
I think when you really want to explore a new place, you need to go and meet "the other" and talk with him. This is the best way to discover a new country and a new culture for me.
Interests
For the geek part of me: I like to read... I mean, I could spend all my time reading. I also like to watch movies and series to relax when I have a free evening.
Otherwise, I spend my time surrounded by amazing people (friends, family, colleagues and clients). I admire each of them for many different reasons. I can spend a long time in a group to party or discuss or only with one person and have a great discussion about society, history, life, passions, etc. I think the most important is to keep my mind open and accept to learn every single day from different ways.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I don't know who can be my favorite, actually it depends on my mood. But I always enjoy to listen Cold Play and Ed Sheeran!
Movies: Big Fish, Life of Pi and all the Lord of the Ring trilogy (yes, I know, I am a geek)
Books: Same thing... It's difficult to choose one, but what I can tell you is that I am a reading freak... I read all the time about everything. I like every kind of reading from the newspaper to a big books!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I had the chance to be volunteer in Vanuatu last year for two months and a half and it was an amazing experience that changed my life. I lived with a local family and I participated at the domestic activities every day.
We were a team of 7 volunteers and we all had our own family in the same village. Our project was to set up a computer laboratory, teach teachers and three classes of students how to use computers and then provide necessary information and tools so the project could keep going after our return to Canada.
In our free time, we enjoyed to visit Efate island (before the terrible hurricane Pam). We did many tours of the island, tried some beachs, visited falls, and my favourite; we swam in a wonderful blue lagoon. One of my friends and I loved doing snorkeling in the pacific. It was completely amazing.
I recommand this country for the kindness of the locals and this interesting culture to everyone.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My legendary joy of life, my easy sense of humor (one word-play and I'm over happy), my cook talents and many very interesting discussions about all and nothing, where you're gonna laugh of my beautiful quebecer accent!
