ABOUT ME

We enjoy travelling by bike to new places and to meet new people. We enjoy hosting cycle tourists via Warmshowers and exchanging tales of adventures but look forward to a new set of stories from fellow Couch Surfers.
We are currently based on the edge of Worcester where we do all sorts of things from making fun things out of wood to researching guide books and even some bike couriering!
We have had some great adventures on bike(s) including around the world on our tandem bike from August 2014 to December 2016 covering over 47,000km through 46 countries. Our blog for the journey is www.shesnotpedallingontheback.com.
Most recently we travelled from Lands End to John O'Groats by bike carrying inflatable packrafts so we could paddle some of the rivers, lakes and lochs along the way. Potentially the first time this has been done!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We'd love to meet fellow couch surfers during our trip as it's a great way to find out about a new country, a new city and new cultures.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have mostly used Warm Showers so far which works in a very similar way but is more specific to Cycle Tourists. We've hosted a lots of people as they have been cycling across Britain as well as staying with hosts during our cycling trips in numerous countries.

Music: An eclectic mix of funk, soul, rare groove, indie, beats, breaks, afrobeat, hip hop, house, DnB etc. BBC 6 Music just about covers it all!

Movies: Cohen Brothers, Kubrik and other quirky stuff. Marcus can quote most of Withnail and I given enough time and a patient audience.

Books: Kirsty has an insatiable appetite for books with her Kindle jam packed with titles from Ken Follet and a host of travelogues.

We love to meet and chat to other people who enjoy exploring interesting parts of the world but just enjoy making new friends while we're away. Everyone has had an adventure of some kind even if it's not much further than their home town.

We've learnt a lot from the road but the most important lesson is to keep things simple. We love to just chat about this crazy planet we live on and the incredible places that we'd love to get to.
