Overview
About Me
First and foremost, I am a proud Belizean of Mayan descent (Yucatec Maya). I grew up in a beautiful Mayan Village called San Antonio and live there to date. San Antonio is 9 miles from San Ignacio and is easily (and cheaply) accessible via public transportation. Getting to/from town for tours to most sites in the Cayo District is very easy.
I currently live with my parents and other siblings. My parents started hosting Peace Corp Volunteers during the early 80's and we've had numerous volunteers stay with us throughout. In addition, we've hosted other outreach and mission volunteers over the years.
While my parents are religious; like much of Belize, they are very outgoing, open minded and open. Having hosted volunteers from all accross the USA, Canada, Switzerland and other countries, they have learned to respect, live and let live!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Growing up around volunteers has made me aware and respectful of other cultures, beliefs, experiences, etc. I now long to learn and meet more people who make up our ever evolving planet.
