CURRENT MISSION
I finished my studies in July, and will come to Canada 23th of August. The 24th I will land in Whitehorse. When I am done exploring Whitehorse and around, I will travel down to Vancouver, then to the east of Canada and I will fly back home from Toronto.

I've got unlimited time, so I hope I can explore Canada to the fullest!

ABOUT ME

Hi! My name is Iris van der Maden, I am 24 years old and going to Canada to explore the world! I already went to NZ, and figured there is so much more to see, so instead of working afterwards my studies, I will travel again. I will start in August and go home whenever I am broke :) I am always keen on a nice drinking or hiking budy, I am social but not the most extrovert person.

PREVIOUS MISSION

I went to NZ in August 2014. First for travelling trough the South for one month. After that my internship started in Auckland for 5 months.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I did couchsurf in NZ once. What I liked about it, is that I am talking with locals who can tell me all about the country, the place, things to do and places to go. Besides that I like to exchange experiences, stories, beers and do some activities together.
So I figured it would be awesome to have the same experience in Canada.

Interests

Nature is what I love most. So during my travels I will mostly be hiking and enjoying the peaceful place, great views and the lovely birds.
I also like the adrenaline which I get from activities like rafting, climbing, parachuting, and anything else with height and speed!

Music, Movies, and Books

I am not much of a movie nor a reading person. But when I do read of watch a movie, it will never ever be fiction ;).

But I love music. Every minute of the day I listen to music and I like going to concerts and festival. Someone playing the guitar at a campfire really makes my day! I did play the drums for 3 years, but that was about 4 years ago, so I guess that's equal to not playing at all ;)

The music I like the most is Rock, 60's, 70's, 80's, Rock 'n Roll, Jazz and Rock a billy. But actually I listen to all kinds of music :).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking up Roys Peak in NZ. That was the most beautiful walk ever. Never walked up a mountain before. Even though it wasn't that high, I was really proud of myself that I made it ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to learn all the ins and outs about Canada, hike around as much beautiful places as possible and meet awesome people.
Since NZ is my only travel experience, is that all I will be able to share with you :) But ofcourse I can share with you my life experiences ;)

For the rest, we could share a beer, a nice dinner, fun, active or exciting activities or just having a nice talk.
And I hope to improve my Engilsh ;)
