About Me
*It is always hard to talk about oneself*
So Hi,
My name is Elise. I am currently studying in pedestrian city called Louvain-la-Neuve (in the South of Brussels). I am planning to specialize myself in Demography next year and I am looking forward it !
I was born in Belgium and lived there for almost my whole life. But my roots come from two different continents: Europe (Belgium, France, Germany) and Africa (Tunisia).
After secondary school, I had the chance to live in the UK for a year in a host family. I met there great friends.
I can offer a mattress in my student room if you want discover a non-touristic city but I can also welcome you to grand-mother house if all you want to do is eating and resting for a few days.
I think the only way I enjoy traveling is without preparing anything in advance. I much prefer following the pieces of advice of the people I meet in the visited country. In the past, my family tried to bring me to all-in hotels but it ended up in stress and feelings of oppression. I like to move, discover, talk, speak and discuss !
I am interested in many many topics but the ones I care currently the most about are Sustainable Development, Movies, Visual Art, Socialization.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
So far, all the experiences I had from Couchsurfing were all amazing ! It has been very pleasant to meet different personalities from different horizons.
I also feel like the community from the Couchsurfing Platform is full of people who know that traveling is more than just going to a place and say 'Yeah, now that I have seen that stuff, I can go home'!
Many people are curious, interesting, full of experiences to share ! Therefore, if I can go and meet them or welcome them at my place, I say 'yes'.
NB: I know I don't have any reviews yet but it is because I've always traveled with friends who used their personal account for the whole group. :)
Interests
Sketching is maybe my number one activity, before eating or sleeping (even though those two take a considerable time in my life). I will be happy to show you my stuff and to discuss about art at any time, any place !
After that, dreaming is also something I really enjoy. It doesn't matter if I am asleep or not. I tend to live a second life and to speak too much about it to my friends. I am planning to hand a dream-book.
I'm also very interested in others culture and in learning about different life philosophies. No matter what, I will take the time to listen to what you've got to share.
Even though I am not really sporty, trekking is something that has always amazed me and I would love to discover new hidden and natural places.

Music, Movies, and Books
My tastes are, I think, very diverse.
I listen to a lot of music: Rock, Reggae, Blues, World Music, (A bit of classical), US Rap but then, in each style, there are stuff I love and stuff I dislike.
I tend to prefer watching an interesting movie rather than reading a book but it is mainly because you can share the moment with other people. Still, cinema is one subject I like to talk about.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
*I have been sleeping under the stars of Jerusalem ! It was spiritually powerful, even if I am not religious (yet?)
*I have been swimming in the Pink Lake (Senegal)
*I hitch-hiked in the biggest crater in the World.
*I have been in the inside of an ancestral Baobab.
*I managed to lick my elbow, once.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Origami techniques (birds, but also some secret techniques I won't spread on the internet).
Drawing techniques if you insist (It is because I don't have any technique).
