Music, Movies, and Books

Lately, I've been into Icelandic post-rock and some Swedish folk groups. As for books, I have a pretty wide range of things I'll read. One of my favorite books is The Brothers Karamazov. Dostoevsky is endlessly fascinating to me. A more recent book that I loved was Orhan Pamuk's memoir of Istanbul.

I don't watch much TV... I like documentaries about revolutionary people, historic events (particularly grassroots movements), and anything related to natural biology. I absolutely love the BBC Planet Earth series.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I illustrated a children's book a few years ago. The author wrote the book as a dedication to her adopted daughter who she found as a baby, abandoned under a bridge during a harsh storm in northern China.

There are more stories to tell, but one that comes to mind is the time I lived with a Bedouin family in the West Bank who kindly sheltered me from a very terrible sandstorm.

Teach, Learn, Share

I try to learn from everyone I interact with, in whatever shape that might take. Humility seems to be the common thread that every personal learning experience requires.
