About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Experience the world one country and one really good meal at a time.

ABOUT ME

I am a college student at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I am majoring in music and will be obtaining a bachelor degree in vocal performance, more specifically operatic performance, and an education certificate. If I don't end up performing I would like to teach high school choir.

But besides my musical interests, which are very far and wide, I love to travel and experience new things and meet new people. What better way to do this than by couch surfing!?!

I love sports, though I am not a jock by any means. My favorite athletic past time is cycling. To get out on the open road and "get lost" with no one around but me and my bike is absolute heaven, especially in Northern Michigan along the shores of Lake Michigan. One of my dreams is to get myself on a road bike somewhere in Europe.

Back to my musical life, I am studying to become an operatic tenor. I don't know exactly what I want to do with my life just yet, but I know that I want my voice to be the focus of my livelihood.

PHILOSOPHY

"Great ambition, without contribution, is without significance."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So many. But the first one that comes to mind would have to be when the University of Michigan Men's Glee Club (of which I am a member) went to Spain in the summer of 2008. Our second to last concert was in Cordoba and we packed the church we were performing in. I'm pretty sure we broke fire code. But after our last piece, it was apparent that we weren't getting out of there any time soon. That Spanish, triplet-clapping audience kept us there for five encores. And to top it all off, once the crowd settled down between the fourth and fifth encores, an elderly man sitting in the third row called out, "Viva la Universidad de Michigan!" Hearing this, the crowd went nuts again for an other minute or two.

To experience such a thing was only possible via the music. Pure magic.
