ABOUT ME

Hello, I am Richard. Welcome to my page.

I live in the heart of Brixton. It takes 15mins to get a train into Oxford St and there is soooooo many things to do. Restaurants, roof top bars, night clubs, markets, cinemas, festivals, gyms, swimming pools and skate parks, we got it all! My next door neighbor is Brixton Academy which has played host to the likes Madonna, Wu Tang Clan, Sean Paul so check the line up and see if there is anything on you'd like to see as getting tickets is just a matter of sitting in the pub on the night and mingling.

Over the last few years I have transitioned from a party person to a healthy eating gym lover. That said, I still find the time to hit the odd festival and day rave (Glastonbury, Elrow, Outlook, Distortions, Lovebox etc).

My other passion is music. I DJ so I am always researching the latest tracks and searching for those underground rhythms both on mp3 and on vinyl.

I try and take my couch surfers out with me when I go out, if its a quiet drink with mates on a Sunday or a 24 hour drinking session involving multiple clubs and house parties, they are always welcome to come with. I have a suit and a tie wearing job that requires me to focus and attend meetings so hangovers dont go down too well (but I can always work from home).

I have 2 kids who come and visit every 2 weeks over the weekend and I think its good for them to meet couch surfers to hear different stories, from different parts of the world in different accents.

PHILOSOPHY

Treat others how you expect to be treated and be considerate. I believe that you should go out of your way to help someone. I am a strong believer in Karma both in terms of how you treat people, animals and the wider environment.

I am not really religious but I am spiritual.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to offer a comforting place to stay for people from all walks of life.

I have not been to any CS events in a while. I went to a CS house party in June 2012. It was amazing. So many people from different backgrounds. Everyone was super friendly. I tried organising a cycle event once but only 1 person came.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have found the varied personalities that have graced my couch fascinating. A tropical doctor, a breakdancer, an american football player, a german gay basketball player to name just 4.

兴趣

Computers, parties, music, motorbikes, technology, rock climbing, dodgeball, exercising (run/swim/cycle/gym), skating and languages.

音乐、电影和书籍

I love all types of music. Dance music especially but I also like classical, reggae, hip hop, live bands... I love it all...

Cant think of any great movies I have seen recently.. Most of the books I read are factual books for studying though I am currently reading 'The Destruction of Black Civilisation'.

Going to the Caribbean to see my father's birth place was a real eye opener. Trekking through the Amazon rainforest, swimming in waterfalls. Truly amazing and awe inspiring.

I can teach people how to DJ, how to speak English as well as how to use a computer - > basic hacking, Office Suite, basic web site creation, database creation and much much more.

I create spreadsheets for a living (very geeky) so if you need to learn Excel I would be happy to give you a little training course.
