About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My current mission is basically to take care of my family and to enjoy being a husband and parenthood to the fullest for my loving daughter. I was once young and my philosophy was to: live and experience life to the fullest; but now my interests and reality have changed and I now want to transcend in time, maybe with a poem….
I am actually very interested in writing I have published a short poetry book about the search for true love recently, it is in Spanish language.
ABOUT ME
I am a simple man who want to keep my life simple... I enjoy travelling and meeting people. I enjoy cultural events and nature. I like to bicycle ride. I am straight, and mentally active. I am descendant from Italian, Mexican, Polish and Spanish.
Since young I have enjoyed artistic activities including drawing and painting. I remember spending time drawing like a kid and like an adolescent, it released my creative spirit and relaxed my emotions. Although neither of my parents where artistically inclined, I had since young, sensitivity and a certain talent for art. I think my parents didn’t know how to channel and incentivize my artistic potential… In the Edron - British school, in Mexico City, I was always recognized by my artistic skills by my teachers and art professors. I remember when I began having my first computer classes I used a basic drawing software to developed a cartoon character making different activities, inspired from the lion´s representative icon of the Edron academy, and I created a simple system to personalize images modifying text, placing the names of children and then printing the image and giving it to the child. Afterwards I applied it in school fairs to earn some money. In its time it was a very modern project. With this project I began to develop my process like a digital artist. Some of my colleague-classmates where good at studying, other where good at numbers, others where good with languages and I was talented in art.
When it came the time for me to choose a professional career I chose art but my strict father, who paid the tuition, didn’t let me study the professional career in art and I didn’t have the character, when I was young, to confront him. I was not a very good at studying because I was in emotional conflict because of familiar problems, like my parents’ divorce and the sudden death of my seconds mother´s husband, this disturbed my mind but I was good in art. One day, in the British school in Mexico City, in my art class I was reinterpreting some technical drawings form “Maurits Cornelis Escher” and the teacher came close to me and suggested me to study architecture; she said I would enjoy it. Architecture is and artistic discipline and was a close profession to art so I decided to follow her advice.
When studying architecture, my passion began towards the technical disciplines of photography and water-coloring. In my architecture career I chose architectonic representation like my specialization, which was the closest specialization-discipline to art. I studied in depth handmade: 1 point, 2 points and 3 point perspectives and different artistic techniques to illustrate architectonic expression in three dimensions. In 1995 and 1996 I developed skills in illustrating perspectives with pencil technique. In 1996 I took an artistic analogue photography and film development course in Mexico City. In 1997 I developed skills illustrating perspectives with color pencils and ink. In this same year I made a travelling expedition through south America: Argentina, Brazil and Costa Rica. I made interesting drawings influenced by the stimulations and emotions of my journey. In 1997 I made a study photographing of the modern architecture and new buildings in the “Santa Fe” district in Mexico City.
Since 1998 I started to develop my professional skills in water-coloring and other color techniques in art. I combined my passions towards photography and water-coloring with a group of young friend travelers capturing special sceneries found during my journeys. We mainly travelled within Mexico. Soon I began to develop a portfolio of photographs and art. By this time, not very usual in conservative Mexican families, I decided to live in a house with other friends like housemates, my early twenties where a very creative period of my life. We had a library in the ground floor, with enough space tables and drawing tables, to develop artistic activities. This is the time when I also began to use the internet and the email. Before the Spamming was recognized socially, I used to send massive emails with poetry, digitalized-art, and photography. In 1999 I participated in the collective exhibition organized in the house we lived in, we involved 25 Mexican young artists. By then, I was experimenting with different color techniques in art and also combining photography in black and white with acrylic coloring, inspired by the Mexican photographer and production designer “Lourdes García Noriega,” with who’s family I was friends with. I started to sign mi artworks with the pseudonym of Orelac which is my first surname written backwards. I had the tradition to giveaway my best watercolors, like a gifts, to friends and other important people with whom I was sharing my life with. Some of the art I have given away I haven’t registered digitally. This tradition of giving away my art like gifts still prevails in actual times.
I kept on water-coloring and making photographs and developing like an artist. In the year 2000 I was invited to make a walking expedition of more than 10 hours in the close regions of the “Pico de Orizaba” volcano, this walking expedition was becoming a tradition and was organized by a friend’s family to honor the death of his father. In a pause, already in a high altitude, during the walking expedition I made a watercolor of the “Pico de Orizaba” volcano and landscape which was stamped with serigraphy in hundreds of white t-shirts and given to the expeditors of the 2001 walking expedition. In the year 2000 I had a car accident and broke my right femur, the orthopedic doctor who operated me collected art with the theme of pigeons. When recovering from the accident I made a pigeon study and gave it to my doctor like a gratitude gift. in 2001 I began to make compositions with geometrical figures and color: triangles, squares and rectangles; I also enjoyed drawing pregnant women. Also, in this year 2001, the terrorist attack against the twin towers happened in September in New York, the news affected me so much I made some abstract oil painting of the suffering of the dead souls. In 2001 we made a family trip to Boston and I made some interesting photographs of Boston and Harvard. In this same year I started deep sea diving and the stimulations received under the deep blue ocean influenced my artistic expression.
In the year 2002 I was working in an architecture and museography company “MuseoTec” in Mexico City and I gained knowledge in the usage of the Photoshop software; which I still use and keep on developing skills in a self-thought way. In the year 2002 I made beautiful photographs of nature in the botanical garden in UNAM of Mexico City. In this year I visited San Francisco in the United States of North America and Mendoza, Argentina for the second time. I made interesting art influenced by the stimulations received by my traveling. In 2002 I migrated to Barcelona, Spain and I kept drawing landscapes and abstract portraits. In this period, I paid a photography developing business to transfer all my film photographs portfolio to digital images. In 2003 I was studying my doctorate on: “Energy and The Environment in Architecture;” by then I was drawing abstracts, nudes and energy, like: light incidence in architectonic space and tree branches moving in the wind. In this year I began to make photographic studies of Gaudi´s architecture in Barcelona. In 2003 I had a psychotic episode, detonated by accumulated fatigue and stress, because of a negative habit I acquired at architecture career in Iberoamericana University in Mexico City of sleepless nights, creating and making my academic duties. I had earned a scholarship from the “Science and Technology Council” of Mexico and I had to maintain a high note average of at least 80% to maintain the scholarship. Although I had the average note, I was determined to lift up my average marking and academic performance. Because of this psychotic episode I was interned in a psychiatric hospital in Barcelona Spain.
2004 was a very important year in my artistic development, I was living in a nice apartment in a modern building in the district of “El Poblenou” in the street of “Bac de Roda” next to the beach in Barcelona with a view to the Mediterranean Sea. My sister Carla was living with me and I was recovering from the accumulated fatigue, I was medicated and forced to sleep at least 10 hours a day and I managed to relax again from the negative habit I acquired in the Iberoamerican university in Mexica City. This period of my life was very creative. I had designed and administrated the building of a desk with metallic structure and thick glass surface which empowered my artistic activity. I managed to focus my attention and energy and I made enough material to make my first and only public art exhibition, until now: “Natura Forma.” Approximately 17 water-colors in A3 format and high quality watercolor paper which where exhibited in a small gallery in the “Old-Town District” of Barcelona. Besides in 2004 I made a 2 travelling journeys though Switzerland and the Netherlands, aided by an architecture guide I made excellent photographs of Swizz ad Dutch architecture in color and black and white.
In 2005 met a Catalonian young psychotherapist woman her name is “Anna” and we started a relationship. I travelled with Anna to Greece and made interesting photographs of Greek architecture and landscapes. In 2005 I made a series of abstractions of the golden section or the golden rectangle and the nautilus curves which I applied color to. in 2006 I had finished two thirds of my doctorate and I got inscribed in a student journey to visit the architecture of “Charles-Édouard Jeanneret” - “Le Corbusier” in France, I made beautiful photographs. At the end of this expedition when the bus was headed back to Barcelona I decided to stay in Ronchamp and visit Notre Dame du Haut for a second time. I decided I wanted to make an academic expedition investigating how rooftops are modified within different latitudes and climates. With only a back-pack and some clothes I decided to travel from south to north of Europe and the west coast. So I did I travelled by foot and with a bicycle. I travelled through the north of France into Luxembourg and then Belgium. In Belgium I started couch surfing. Afterwards I took a plane to Finland started to travel from south to north of Finland. After 10 months of travelling I settled in Sweden. I made a series of excellent photographs with the theme of roofs and latitudes in Europe. I stored all the photographs in the web in “Yahoo Photos.” Unfortunately, Yahoo Photos erased my archive one day without having the opportunity to back up this material. In 2006 I selected a series of photographs form my portfolio and I named it “Mexican People” and presented it to a photograph gallery in Visby Gotland without much success. In 2007 I was living in the paradisiac island of Gotland in Sweden and I made some watercolors influenced by the Swedish culture, mainly of the culture of the island of Fårö. I had made an agreement with a professor from the architecture department, of the then “Högskolan På Gotland University.” He was to monitor my doctoral thesis and I was allowed to use the computer installations in the campus.
My first period in Europe ended, and I was to return to Mexico City. In 2008 I had returned to Mexico and I began a family company to recuperate the Mexican culture; the way I pretended to do this was by modernized typical folkloric images and stamping them on t-shirts with the technique of serigraphy. With my family and a cousin who is a graphic designer we developed hundreds of digital images inspired in Mexican culture. We formally began the company and presented the idea to the public with an event with a Power Point presentation a catwalk and a t-shirt market. I designed the catwalk structure and a talented carpenter built it out of wood. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the resources to lift up the company. In 2008 I made a series of watercolors of the tallest volcanoes in Mexico which then was used to illustrate the graphic design of a calendar. In 2009 my professional teaching career began. I started teaching in “Universidad Iberoamericana” I taught for 3 years the subjects of: architectonic projects, Geometry I and Expression III. This where years where I really tried to transmit my creative skills to my students. The most artistic oriented of the subject was “Expression III” the students had to learn how to sketch perspectives and nude model drawing and how to apply color with different artistic techniques including water-coloring. Some of my students where very talented.
In 2010 I started combining watercolor with digital art and patterns. I was invited, by my brother in law who is a television commercial producer, to participate in the production of a television commercial to promote the Soccer World Cup where I had to develop a series of watercolors of textures that would be used like backgrounds in the commercial. The television commercial won a prize in publicity. In the day 17 of July of the year 2011, I met my wife Anni Oja and she became a strong influence in my life. I began to blog and created the “LiXcEr” “Libre Expresión Creativa” which literally means: “Creative Free expression.” https://liexcr.wordpress.com/ I wanted the “LiXcEr” to be my business project and I wanted to incorporate my best students into the project. The LiExCr Project, aims to become a horizontal-international society that contributes, through communication media, innovative ideas and realities of: analysis, design, and research for Architecture and Landscape Architecture projects, Art, Design, Photography and Urbanism. In the present and for the future. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the resources to lift up the organization.
In November of 2011 I was recently married and we moved to the magical town of Malinalco in the State of Mexico where I replicated my metallic and glass desk and I had a very creative year – artistically, creating watercolors and taking photographs. This is the time when the “Facebook” groups became popular I decided to create some “Facebook-groups” myself, I created: “Malinalco Fotografías” & “Subasta de Acuarelas.” I created “Subasta de Acuarelas” the 31st of March of 2012 because I wanted a medium where I could sell my watercolors and invite other artists to participate and sell their art too. The idea was that one day I could ow my own art and watercolor gallery. I have actually sold some watercolors through this group. Today the group has: 1,440 Members; 30 Posts; 5 Authors; 11 Commenters; and 48 reactors. Unfortunately, I haven’t had resources to make the project of the Art gallery a reality.
I crated “Malinalco Fotografías” the 24th of December of 2011 with the intention to create a “permanent image bank” of Malinalco where participants that were invited to the group and others who wanted to become members could participate creating a modern and everyday exhibition. My idea was to develop an architectonic project of a photographic gallery and build it in Malinalco. I would have the photographs of the group to exhibit this material in the photography gallery. The gallery was to be called: “La Mediateca de Malinalco” Today the group has: 1,491 Members; 1,006 posts; 67 authors; 139 commenters & 275 reactors. The group was most active in the year 2012 when Anni and I lived in Malinalco, although it is still alive. Unfortunately, I haven’t had resources to make the project of a photography gallery in Malinalco a reality.
Afterwards the project of the group photography’s in different places became more complex. Today I administrate 32 groups from nearly all the places where I have lived and travelled to:
1. Acapulco fotografías

In the year 2012 Anni and I decided we wanted to have a baby and that it would be better to move to Estonia where there was a more stable economic and social system, being Estonia part of the European Union. So we did, we first lived in the university-city of Tartu. My art was influenced by the stimulations of the Estonian culture and climate. Maintaining the idea of the family company I started in Mexico City I started to reinterpret images of Tartu´s everyday life and culture to photographs and then digital images and applying the Estonian flag typical colors to the images. In this year I also designed some heraldic shields for me and my family, I inspired from normal images then traced an outline in AutoCAD and saved the digital drawing inn pdf format and then used the Photoshop to apply color. I also began to make patterns I made some freelance work for a finish company named “Graphic Concrete.” My wife and I founded our architecture company in 2012: Oü Muhemuigam – passion for passive architecture: http://www.muhemuigam.eu/
In the year 2013 our daughter Emma was born and I was very touched by her birth. I began a photograph series of my daughter her albums are published in my Facebook account. There are now 14 albums with approximately 169 digital portrait photographs per album with the theme of our daughter. Later, I also began a blog for Emma: https://emmamesilane.wordpress.com/ I made some poetry about my daughter. I wanted the following text to become a song…
EMMA WHEN SHE PASSED HER 2 MONTHS
(To our little baby Emma – Emma Mesilane)
I feel the soul of
a beautiful life, Emma
your mother and I enjoy
the beginning phase of your process
(Refrain or chorus):
Relax your mind
relax your heart
relax your body
relax your emotions
Long ago I wished for the company
of your mother and yours
you both fill my heart
with your tenderness and love
I enjoy singing to you softly
through the back of your ear
& while hugging you, feel the warmth
of your little body against my chest
(Refrain or chorus)
Your mother & I have understood
you enjoy life better
in our arms, & thus
we carry you happily, everywhere
You are awake & alive to life
& enjoy, in accomplice with me,
exploring & routing different daily paths in Tartu
(Refrain or chorus)
Your mother & I enjoy
collecting & archive
digital images of
your, so far, brief history
We also enjoy recording & editing
videos of nice moments of your life
sharing our happiness with friends and family
that also love you all through the world
(Refrain or chorus)
I very much enjoy the beauty
of your body, mind & soul
you are a happy & easy going baby
who presents a beautiful character
I’ve noticed people’s amazement
when they first meet you,
the immediate reaction
is a brief 5 second spasm of admiration
(Refrain or chorus)
You have funny facial gestures
when you are digesting;
your hair lifts up and people classify
your hairstyle like a punkie
Your eyebrows lift up,
remarking the power of your future seductive power;
the line marks of your body contour
are soft and round, you are an immaculate beauty
(Refrain or chorus)
My heart anchors and my imagination fly
cradling your initial phase
in an imaginary life
of perfect hygiene and royal spaces…
Where I walk you in my arms
through the most sensational & magical gardens
& afterwards I bath you
in a huge white bath-tube
(Refrain or chorus)
My extremities and chest have molded to your body
my mind and heart have included your process
I’ve become an overprotective daddy
that cherishes every second of your innocent life
One of your mother’s and mine
favorite moments
is looking at your new-coming smile;
you react by smiling when caressed in the chin
(Refrain or chorus)
Your mother’s refined senses
collect emotions not mainly
through the eyes but also
through the ears and mouth
She is a linguist & we both enjoy
the gesticulation of your first phonetics
when you shorten your learning vowels
in an “AGUUU” sound
So I lullaby to you:
(Refrain or chorus)
With these brief words
I intend to recall the magic
of our lived memories
& touch your heart over & over again
I want to share the happiness
you have arose
with everyone across the world
So, I lullaby to you:
(Refrain or chorus)
You are beauty itself & so I wish to keep you
I will live to protect your mother & your body, mind and soul
& wish that society cherishes my effort
to keep you both going if & when I’m gone
I am sure you are good blood & will be
strong, independent, free & happy;
You will know how & with whom to share your life
making a family & transcend in a positive way
So I lullaby to you:
(Refrain or chorus)
I love to feel your chest with the palm of my hands
while the sound of: “AGUUU”
escapes from your nice mouth & lips
you have a beautiful soft & tender voice
I really love you baby…
with all the power of my heart, mind & soul
I imagine you “Queen Bee”
singing and dancing
& sharing the beautiful
art of your life
I really love you baby…
& will always love you
So keep on relaxing your mind
relaxing your heart
relaxing your body
relaxing your emotions

In 2013 We had winter vacations in Rhodes Greece, I have always enjoyed the sea and the ocean. We were supposed to stay in Rhodes for 2 or 3 months but my wife and daughter had an accident walking in the port. My wife accidentally misplaced her foot in a flag pole hole while carrying Emma. Emma flew a couple of meters and hurt her face in the asphalt but Anni broke some bones in her foot. Anni was operated in Rhodes and we ended up staying for approximately 6 months. My artistic expression was influenced by Rhodesian climate, culture and landscapes. I made several watercolors of Rhodes landscape and wasn’t able to scan the images properly so I only took digital photographs. I also made interesting photographs of Rhodes architecture, culture and landscapes.
In April of 2014 We returned to Tartu and I was hospitalized for health problems. In the hospital whilst recuperating I made interesting art. My wife is part of a sorority called “INDLA” and the new members are called “Rebane” is fox in Estonian language. The new members have a room inside the sorority and it is named the “Foxes room.” In the hospital of Tartu, I made some watercolors of foxes with the intention to give these watercolors like a gift to INDLA to be placed inside the “Rebane” room. In May of the year 2014 we decided to move to Haapsalu where Emma could have a better environment to grow up, since then we have been living in Haapsalu in the north-west cost of Estonia. In 2014 I started teaching in “Haapsalu College” I thought the subjects of: Composition, Drawing 1, Portfolio and Presentation Techniques. I had to investigate in these subjects to make my class presentations and became a better artist and photographer while doing so. I had very talented students. I thought in this university for 2 years. My art and my photographs where influenced since then by this investigation.
In the beginning of 2015 we had winter vacations in Mexico. In this year I made some watercolor portraits of my daughter, a task suggested by my mother, and some landscapes and sea-views of Haapsalu. I kept on making photographs and posting them in my groups. In April of 2015 I began using Instagram and I have dedicated my account to my daughter’s portraits and short videos.
In February of 2016 some of my architectonic projects where exhibited in the exhibition: Itinerant exhibition, Natural Light in Mexican architecture, International Year of the Light, CAM-SAM - UNESCO, Montejo Avenue in Merida Yucatan, Mexico
PHILOSOPHY
I like to make the most of what I can in life and stay positive and open minded… I am not very interested in money, maybe because when I was a boy, in my childhood, I didn’t get to spend much quality-time with my parents because they were always working for money and when I was 18 my parents pushed me to start working myself so somehow I created a rejection towards working for money. I now see value in other things like in parenthood, human relationships and art. Money is important but it is possible to have more life-quality spending time in transcendental matters and spending less time in superficial matters.
