Overview
About Me
I'm a passionate high school teacher, fond of science, fond of people, fond of traveling, fond of challenges.
I love meeting all sorts of people, especially when they have a different way of thinking than mine...
I'm unfortunately disabled since I've had a ski accident in 2006. I can walk a little bit and climb some stairs, and I don't have elocution issues, but every muscle from my chin down is partially paralyzed, which is uncool ;-)
Nevertheless, I consider myself lucky (in a weird kind of way) as in the first months after my accident I have experienced total paralysis, communicating by sending Morse code messages with my eyelids...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I discovered couch surfing around 2009, I've been lucky enough to surf a lot of couches, and to host some surfers, it's a great experience!
I try to expand couch surfing by talking about it on the website dedicated to my trips: www.segwaytravellers.com
Plus, I tell all my student to join CS. The best way to learn english!
Furthermore, I have the habit of asking for hospitality when I travel, and I have stayed with lots of people that are not on couch surfing that way. As they usually enjoy the experience of hospitality, I suggest them to join CS.
Interests
Science, history, geography, anthropology, religion, cinema, I'm curious about more or less everything except maybe painting. I must confess I'm not very much into art museums...

Music, Movies, and Books
I am the biggest fan of Molière, a French writer from the 17th century, I love cinema but I'm not fond of television series...
Does it really make sense to mention all this on a couch surfing profile? Do people really care? It all just makes a lot of words and the result is just that people quit reading, but CS wants me to complete every field. So be it!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
With my brother, we've travelled almost every summer for years, riding nothing but our Segways, with our backpacks and a little trailer containing spare batteries. We've been all over the United States, going from coast to coast but also in Canada or in the French Pyrenees. I still keep on making raids during my vacations, and now do it with my girlfriend !
When we travel we have only one rule: never spend no night in no motel. As we need electricity to charge our batteries at night, we try to make friends by having the locals trying the Segway, and ask for a place to spend the night. We have stayed with many families that way, but also in barns, churches, fire stations etc.
What is funny is that many of the people who hosted us confided that they thought they would never host a stranger. But finally all they needed was an opportunity ;-)

What I Can Share with Hosts
I have a lot of stories and I even sometimes stop talking and listen which is not so frequent...
Furthermore, I'm pretty good with a computer so I can fix some bugs.
My girlfriend is a therapist, so she can kind of fix some other kind of bugs ;-)
