CURRENT MISSION

Take some time to regroup and revitalize after being sole caregiver for my Mother for the last several years-Alzheimers,now in a nursing home.

ABOUT ME

Have lived most of my life here in Putnam County Indiana.With a career move that took me to North Carolina/South Carolina from 1980-85.From 85-86 I traveled extensively in Europe,much by bicycle which I took over with me.Stayed in youth hostels and experienced my first "couch surfing" with local residents who opened their homes to me.A great experience-traveled as far as Turkey(by train) and futher inland and along the coast by the local bus service-would like to return someday.
Upon my return to the States I felt the need to check out California and ended up in Humboldt County(still with my bike,which was my primary transport for the next 10 years.I worked at KEET-TV,KIEM-TV and KVIQ-TV(was board operator and worked loading tapes during the newscasts-this was back when they had a local newscast at 6 and 11.
Before my return to Indiana I also worked at WINCO Foods,then called WAREMART.
In 1996 my mom called and ask if I could return to Indiana as she needed some help(my father had passed away in 1971).
So back to Indiana it was where I am still located,only recently did it become necessary to move my mom to a nursing home-she was diagnosed with Alzheimers in 2003 and caring for her at home just got more than I could manage alone.
Now I will begin to recover and regroup.
I hope someday to move back to Humboldt but untill then I am looking forward to vist this September,catching the Blues Festival as well as looking up some old friends and making some new ones.

Most recent book read was "39 years of short term memory loss" by Tom Davis.
Music interests include Grateful Dead,Blues,Jazz and 40's Big Band.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Redwoods,Grand Canyon,traveling Europe for a year.Biking trips.

Teach, Learn, Share

Am interested in 'nuts and bolts' aspect of solar panel technolgy-what works and what doesn't.I am thinking about installing some panels to supplement the grid.
