About Me

CURRENT MISSION

ridin' bikes and eating the world

ABOUT ME

I want real life. I want people to tell me about their adventures, about their favorite places, about the most hilarious thing they've ever seen, about what they want to change.I want to get out of what people told me for so many years about what my life had to be, and I want to get out of my headspace and see what's happening for other people. sometimes I'm really quiet, but if you can stir things up a bit, or maybe just drink some beer with me, I'll prove I'm not just shy.really, I just wanna run around and make things and listen and yell. and my favorite animal is the manatee.

PHILOSOPHY

every thing in the world is somehow beautiful.

and things intersect. on many levels.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surf, you surf, we have interesting times together.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couchsurfed in seattle, olympia, portland, san francisco, chicago, and in amsterdam, grenoble, and crete.and I've hosted a handful of nice folks.I don't exactly go chasing people down for references. but I've had wonderful times everywhere I've been. and when couchsurfing hasn't worked out, somehow I've always found incredible people anyway, in pizza places and bars and at potlucks on the last night of a stay with someone else. the world works out like that.

Interests

being challenged. eating things. learning things. drinking things. being self-sufficient. reading and writing. running around and yelling. sequins and gold things. riding bikes. gettin' radical every day. practicing tenderness.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was in an outdoor group in my hometown for ten years, beginning at age eight. When I was fifteen, I traveled to Canada's Northwest Territories for a month, just outside the Arctic Circle, and paddled the entire length of the Nahanni River. The mosquitos were terrible. The canyons, waters, rocks, and sunsets were incredible. The solitude was unforgettable. I realized, at fifteen, that the world is larger than I can ever understand and it is strange we are here. and recently, many more things. ask me about them. also, realizing that you can go anywhere and find good people.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can knit, I would like to know more about bike maintenance, I can tie knots, I can give haircuts, I can share bits and pieces of the wilderness knowledge I've built up over the years. I can teach you to roll a kayak! I can probably do other stuff too, if you show me how.
