ABOUT ME

I grew up in west Michigan and still reside there. Though I don't plan on staying here persay all my life I'd like to start plotting some traveling. Whether that be on the other side of the pond or near my back yard. I naturally couch surf, meaning I've had plenty of practice before I ever heard about this website. I dig the concept. It seems like one of the last few outlets people still can show a natural hospitality. I like the arts (music, painting canvas, making short movies, writing stories and poems, occasional sculpting with clay). I like the mobile lifestyle. When I was younger I read "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac and always wanted to travel west. Although I didn't reach the west coast I was fortunate to take a trip to Utah and visit an old friend. 10 years later here I am wanting to accelerate my travel ideas. Met with a group of Kalamazoo area couch surfers. I really liked the idea and soon it took root.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm a humanist. Meaning I just believe people are gonna be people. I love change really. I like to broadin' my horizons by getting more feedback from people. I am told I'm a good listener, and to an extent yes I am. I don't feel so alone that way. I usually like to help out with my friends in daily life. I'm a helper by nature too. But the thing I love most about being around people is the conversations. No matter if there is disagreement or agreement. I appreciate the art of expression.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For now I stay with my sister and her family...The only thing I could offer at this time is my knowledge of things to do in Kalamazoo,Michigan. If your a hiker I know a plethora of places to choose from within a 20 mile radius. Disc golfers I know where alot of the courses are at. Bars, movie theatres, restaurants, coffee shops, and a great place to get a gyro.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Oh I'd say about 10 years with friends, and friends of friends. Isn't that what we all really are? My dearest friend Anna Wilinski turned me onto this organization this last summer and met some really cool people.

Interests

I love conversation. I love it I love it. I'm a very open person who likes a wide range of tastes. I'm naturally attracted to all kinds of music specifically other cultures. I have a thing for oriental culture and art. I plan on going to the far east some day. I have other places as well, and I'm slowly getting into this. I'm sure as time goes I'll be more informed on how this all works out.I find time to make myself do some form of art everyday. Lately I've moved back into acrylic painting.
