About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Resolve to do 1 thing everyday that I 'fear'...

ABOUT ME

Impassions me to see the odd juxstaposition of antiquity and modernity ..the almost medieval ways of the countryside entwining with the billboard and highrise era....Love travelling ..seeing images of sheep streaming across mountain meadows, the valleys ringing with the call of the shepherds..getting lulled by the lyrical, pastoral countryside, with horses and carts plodding along the roadside, slowing things to the rhythm of older times..to travel to the pockets of traditional lifestyles that go unmolested and endure with no end.

PHILOSOPHY

-''Someday'' is a disease that will take your dreams to the grave with you......If you're improving the world, consider your job well done and if you're learning you're living

-''If one day, the love of your life disappears, don't dispair, rather let your tears fall into the prettiest crystal box that ever existed and this will be labeled: 'the act of forgetting'...because until happiness comes again you still have one big obstacle to overcome and it's called: 'Suffering'

-Isus le-a zis: Dacă aţi fi orbi n-aţi avea păcat. Dar acum ziceţi: Noi vedem. De aceea păcatul rămâne asupra voastră

-'If we spent half the money on travel that we do on material goods in America I think the world would be a much different place. We've stifled our curiosity because it's time consuming (and time is money) Travel is spiritual because it's about personal growth, awareness, and sensitivity'. (Rolf Potts: Vagabonding)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I make a trip I set out to meet people. Some of these have many different experiences and the more I travel, the more travelers I meet, meaning more and more options are presented. My mind is always entertaining a hundred or maybe more .. different possibilities for extended travel.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is my first time with CS..I hope to meet a lot of new people along the way and share experiences and so far I have.

I have used CouchSurfing in Romania, Spain, and Portugal. And on the East Coast of the United States. It was a great experience and I will try to use it again in the future in my country

Interests

- To live life on my own terms and to help others.

- Nature, travel, languages.

- Eastern European countries and all their 'still untouched' beauty that they offer.

Music, Movies, and Books

Languages help to immerse ourselves in another culture and sometimes completely foreign environments. They develop our skills in adaptation to new ways of thinking..And it is a fact...it's impossible to understand a culture without understanding its language which makes you aware of your own language, your own thoughts and you gain a second lens through which to question and understand the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-Hitchhiking and other traveling and living experiences throughout Europe that are too many to put here. Here are a few:

-85-mile-long 2-week hiking trip through New Mexico's Rocky Mountain extension

-Month-long backpacking trip through Europe including a 10-day trip through Italy's 'toes' (summer 2006)

-11 Holidays to Portugal including one where I hitchhiked back into Spain, another trip was a 7-week couchsurfing experience.

-3 adventorous Ferry Boat rides into Morrocco from Spain's Southern Coast

-Been flatmates with people in many houses and countries who represent roughly 15 different nationalities

Teach, Learn, Share

I have 6 years of English teaching experience in Spain, Portugal and Hungary. I can teach conversational and grammar English to all those who wish to learn and speak the way it should be. I have a huge interest in Albanian as I would like to go there soon. So if anyone can help me I would be more than happy. Bulgaria and Turkey are also future trips somewhere in the future.
