About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Triathlon and couchsurfing in every major european city
ABOUT ME
My life revolves around sports. I am currently addicted to Triathlon. I started joining competition last July 2010 and continue to train almost everyday with the ultimate goal of hopefully making it in Kona. I love to travel and discover new places. I love road trips, discovering great wines, cheese and local cuisine.
I love the great outdoors. I jump every opportunity to go camping and be with nature. I would love to go mountain hiking/climbing but at as of now, havent found the time yet. The last time i hiked was in Atlas Mountain, Morocco and that was in 2009. I would love to do one again.
I have a day job that keeps me occupied most of the week but i try to maintain a healthy work life balance thus my interest in sports, arts, and traveling. I have a passion for contemporary/modern arts - works by Mark Rothko, Gustav Klim, Andy Warhol , Joan Miro, Picasso, Giacometti, Cezanne, Matisse, to name a few.
I am a big supporter of online microfinance project called Kiva and have regularly lent to small businesses in far flung areas of Africa, Latin America, Asia and Middle East. I have started my own little way of raising funds for charity by putting in EUR1 for every distance (km) i will complete during a triathlon event and hopefully encourage friends and families match that donation.
Other than these, im pretty much a chill guy but can be a bit serious bordering boring sometimes :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted quite a few couchsurfers and always had the best time.
-Anthony from USA but was an exchange student in UK at that time
and we ended up training for Triathlon together
-Rok and his sister from Slovenia
-Cindy and her friend from China, exchange students in
Tarragona, Spain at that time
- Daniel from US, exchange student in Grodingen,
Netherlands
- Edyta from Poland also an exchange student in Grodingen
- Nate from US and is an exchange student in Netherlands who came to
Luxembourg and ran the ING marathon (full)
- Jill from US, an exchange student in Angers, France
- Katherine from Canada
- Tom from UK and Rune from Norway traveling together on their way
to Korea
- Jolyn and her brother Jason from Missouri, USA
- Svenning and Michael (Father and son team) from Denmark who was biking their way to Barcelona from Denmark
- Adam from Australia
No, i dont have a preference for exchange students, it all just happened that most of those who requested that fit my schedule were exchange students.
Couple of times, i had double booked couchsurfers trying to help out last minute requests. They all turned out to be fantastic experience.
I am most likely to turn you down if you are a "professional" couchsurfer.
I have not surfed yet but plans to finally do one during summer 2011.
