About Me
Hi,
I am a visual artist with teaching experience and an interest in writing. Having said this, my first career was in manufacturing but decided after ten years (I cannot believe it took me so long) that office life was really not what I wanted to continue with. I have had incredible adventures with the artworld, with several teaching and exhibition assigments in China during the last couple of years, which have been a profoundly personal revelation as to another culture and way of living. It also means that I am trying to learn Chinese, but I don't feel worthy to include in the list up above. I should add....I work part time for London Underground, which is actually fun if incredibly tiring, and the constant money helps with the unrealiable art/teaching income.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm not one to travel just for the sake of it, much prefering when there is some personal connection with a place. Being invited into someones home is a privilege and a great way to get to know someone (you?) no matter how brief the stay or how limited the time if you are busy. I am as happy to share the experience of my visit as to head out on my own.that is to say... please please please do not feel obliged to show me round or plan a complete itinerary if you are busy.

I could add so many...in general I can never learn enough.

Music, Movies, and Books
This changes all the time. Here's a bit of a list of what I have enjoyed The Godfaher (not iii), Sergio Leone and Ennio Morrichone, Lego Movie, Incredibles, Inside Out, Farewell My Concubine, Manu Chao, Alejandro Zambra, Cesare Pavese, Blondie...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
With a friend, we organised a comprehensive exhibition of contemporary drawing in China. The best part was teaching creativity through drawing at the university there and sharing the experience with some of the most enthusiastic and talented students. The food wasn't bad either.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Being Italian, I'll happily cook for you. If you like to suffer, I'll turn to the limited British cuisine repetoire.
