About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm a happy anthropologist about to move to Rio de Janeiro to do 6 months of fieldwork for my master thesis in social anthropology. I love to meet new people, and look forward to 6 months full of surprises and new friendships.
I was born in Bariloche and when I turned five my family moved to Norway where I grew up, so I'm more used to the snow than to the beach, and to the cold than to the heat, but that's part of the challenge I suppose :) After high-school I moved back to Argentina where I studied to become a mountain guide, and worked several years in southern Patagonia, in El Chalten, a village of 1500 inhabitants in the middle of nowhere. At the same time, I started my degree in Social Anthropology in Norway, and spent a lot of time travelling back and forth between the two countries. For the last years I've been living in the north of Norway, in a city called Tromsø, where the sun never rises in the winter and never sets in the summer! I'd really appreciate the opportunity to meet locals in Rio, just for a walk around town, for a beer, a trip to the beach or a couple of nights on your couch!
PHILOSOPHY
If you give up before you try you certainly wont succeed!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm new to couchsurfing and for the time being I still don't have a home to host in, but I really like to meet people, so just send me a message if you want to meet up in Rio!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've crashed on the couches of friends tons of time, but never through couchsurfing. I've had lots of good experiences though, staying with people that I did not know at first, but who ended up being life-long friends. Trough the exchange student organization AFS I got to know a fantastic family in Santiago de Chile some 7-8 years ago, and after 3 days at their house I was sold. In the following years I've gone on holidays, backpacking trips and spent christmas with them several times. Not all experience are like that, but most experiences have been very good. I've also had people crashing at my place from time to time, and I really enjoy the chance to show them my town or city.
Interests
I do a little photography, and I've climbed some in the past, but my main interest is trekking and hiking in the mountains. I like to discuss politics and have strong opinions. In the weekends I often go out with my friends.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have two favorite books: "The Lord of the Rings" and "1984". Wait, there is a third one as well: "A Brave New World" by Houxley ;)
I really like the argentinean classics, such as Leon Gieco, Charley García and Gustavo Cerati. But what I listen to the most is electronic music, mainly deep and progressive house.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My biggest woha experience is probably climbing on the fitz-roy massif in patagonia.
