I'm 28 years old guy currently living in Sörnäinen, Helsinki. When I'm working, I'm doing youth work so working with children and young people, who might have difficulties in their lives. When I'm not working, I usually try to travel as much as I can. I've been living longer periods in Portugal and France, because when I travel, I usually want to stay longer, get known to the country and the people there and help the local community somehow. Next planning to stay in Bali for a while.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love travelling myself and I think this is a great opportunity to get known with local people and experience something u might otherwise miss. I've been doing Couchsurfing few times abroad myself, and it has been really cool. So now that I am in my home country I want to give this possibility to others :)

Interests

For the last few years I've been quite enthusiastic about circus and acrobatics. There is quite nice possibilities in Helsinki to practise these in different places, so we can go and give it a try! Also we have a big shared flat with nice-sized living room, so it is also a possibility. I'm not a pro myself, but it would be nice to teach and lern somethinh related to these :)

I also like to going to nature. From Helsinki there is good possibilities to get to the forest, maybe the most famous is the National Park of Nuuksio, where u can hike, sleep in a tent, make a bonfire and so on. But of course there is other possibilites also, for example to go and seek some abandoned places.

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste in music is wide and I enjoy listening everything from psychedelic trance to different countries folk music. I have grew up listening to hip hop and punk/hardcore so they still have a strong place in my heart, not only the music but the whole culture and diy attitude. I'm always willing to go to gigs and parties, my favourite ones are more alternative events and ungerground parties.

Though I watch more series nowadays, my favourite film directors are Emir Kusturica, Hayao Miyazaki and Aki Kaurismäki. I also love campy humour and old trashy B-movies.

My favourite book is definetely Mihail Bulgakov's The Master and Margarita, I have read it many times. I also love books of Herman Hesse. Last book I read was Carlos Castaneda's A Separate Reality. Now I'm reading a book of this Finnish guy who decides to live and travel without money, I think this fits well with the Couchsurging ideology :)
