About Me
Every summer I try to grab my backpack and leave on my own to some backpacker friendly countries. When not staying in hostels I love to meet/stay with locals. Lately I meet a lot of locals by hitchhiking, but Couchsurfing gives more time to get to know each other. Me and my parents (i still live at home) love to welcome travelers, but as Waregem is not a very touristic destination, we do not get that much requests! Although, we were happy to host so far someone from France, India and some travelers from exotic far away Belgium! :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To be able to visit stunning places (recommended by locals), meeting new people and hear about their amazing stories (which seems to be no problem as my couchsurfing experience learnt me), learn about other cultures that are not mine (although hearing about other's cultures, makes me think about mine too), and soooo much more, that you can only experience by doing couchsurfing :).

Music, Movies, and Books
I can listen to all kinds of music (except for too sticky love songs and german style schlager music, sorry for that :) ). My radio station switches between 'Hit fm en directo', a commercial pop music radio station that i took from Mallorca and that plays the same songs over and over again, up to 10 times the same song every day and 'Radio Rock', a Slovenian radio station (the type of music is not difficult to guess). But just to make clear that i'm open to new music styles, once a friend from Pakistan summoned up all his courage and introduced me to Bollywood movies. I didn't pay a lot attention to the story, but i just loved the music! If I have to give my favorite Music group, I would say Die Antwoord... If you haven't heard about the group, don't look it up. If you do, I'm not as weird as they are... ;)
I'm also interested in watching good movies and reading a nice book in a cosy corner, but i don't know how it happens, but time seems to fly by without movies and books. But the advantage is, once i am able to read a book or watch a movie, i enjoy all the more!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Living in a forest for 5 days in an alternative community.
Mystery shopper for a travel company = visiting hotels in different countries and getting paid for it!
Half a year of ERASMUS (= studying in a foreign country) in Mallorca. Great memories, great international friends.
Solo hiking trip through Slovenia for 11 days, my trust in people got a boost! It was on this trip that i first used Couchsurfing. I stayed with 5 different people in 5 different cities. They were all very different characters, but they had one thing in common: they are wonderful!
Backpacking with a friend in Poland
Festivals: Pukkelpop (Belgium), Arras (France), Balaton Sound Festival (Hungary), Dour (Belgium), Full Moon (Thailand), Lokerse Feesten (Belgium)
Backpacking in Thailand
Backpacking in Balkan
Oké, this is much more than 'One Amazing Thing' :)
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: If you want to learn some dutch words, I'm there! :)
Share: It is possible to lick your elbow, I'm the proof! ;)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can recommend you the nicest places in Belgium to visit! :). There's a train station 3 km from my house. Close to my house, there are 2 nice nature reserves (one can be reached by foot, the other one by bike).
