Overview
About Me
I'm a Mexican-American artist, originally from California but now living in Mexico City. My work is inspired by my ethnic heritage; I make textiles, sculptures, and paintings in watercolor and pastel. I am having a show in London in early September, and am taking advantage of the trip to England to spend a couple of months wandering around Europe! You can see my work on my website at www.gremardromero.com
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet people in the different countries I am visiting, where I might not have any friends to begin with, and get to know people! And, to make a long to trip to Europe a little more economical so I can get to see more!
Interests
Art, food, books, and history. I am a costume designer (I make clothes for the opera in Mexico City and for the ballet, as well as working as a stylist for music videos), so all things clothes related. Textiles. I am an avid museum goer!

Music, Movies, and Books
among many; "Great Expectations," the book, Proust, science fiction in general (The Left Hand of Darkness is a favorite). The list is endless.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I am currently at work painting a book. It is called the Tonalamatl, and is an ancient Mexican book of divination and prophecy; I am re-painting the ancient book and writing an accompanying book of interpretation. So far it is about 40 meters long; paintings from this book will be on display at my show in London in early September.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can read you your Aztec fortune, using the Tonalamatl! Its a book of pre-hispanic fortune-telling.
