About Me

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoyed cycling in Holland, France, Luxemburg, Swiss and camping on my way, or sleeping at 'new friends' their houses.
I like the experience of people giving you their trust & kindness and showing you a part of their lifes.

Also when I was young and lived with my parents, we hosted some guys from France, travelling through Europe! Maybe I was 15 or something and I thought it was sooo nice to open your doors and spontaniously meet & help people. Great experience for me by then. I was so happy we could share our food (macaroni, I still remember..) and that they gratefully accepted the vacation boat that my father kind of built, to sleep in.
It's actually a very basic thing to do, but often exactly thát are the nicest things in life. (When you do it with attention and love). Its up to you!

So, yeah, its nice to help someone who's in need! And so relatively easy.

Interests

I'm interested in a great variety of things like: psychology ("whats the influence of extern factors on our personalities" etc.); healthy (organic) food and (then of course) agriculture/cattle-breeding; "alternative" (or call it 'basic' ;) ) medical-sciences and I also enjoyed to draw for a while (and still want to improve!); to be creative with natural materials, that don't harm spaceship earth. Such as: wool, to sew/repare things or make figures with wood.

As my partner and I decided that we dont like the fact that we are using 1,7 planet, (facts that occur thanks to the best and most independent scientists in the world: UN scientists -why does not everyone know?-) due to the current Western life style, I learn more about self sufficient living. If we live all sustainable there could be enough for 10 billion people and we could keep our surroundings whole for the next generations.

I studied laws for 2 years and after that I did 1 year and several courses about Massage. Now we just moved to Wassenaar so I stopped my job in Utrecht and Im planning to start my own practice with Massage.

Music, Movies, and Books

Acoustic, country, classic, sometimes 'soft' rock; poppy and so on. Depends on the mood :)
I can really enjoy music, but I'm not good in remembering names and titles ^^

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sailing on the north Sea with no option for an engin, because the cargo ship with about 13 sails just doesn't have it :) (They also sail every year to America!)

Climbing mountains in Austria and Swiss and enjoying the more then beautiful blue/green vieuws over the lakes AM-A-ZING.

Sleeping underneath the fruittrees from an old former farmer and his wife and slowly gaining their trust, so we could have interesting conversations.

Sleeping literally "in the cows stable", in Swiss and after they gave me from their home made milk & grapes and the other morning having breakfast in the farmer and family his house, that was over 500 years old!!! There was also a very caring mother, a daughter of my age and 3 old members of the family which they cared for, as in an elder people's house. Heartwarming experiences.
Picking flowers and feeling sand and water between the toes...things of which I hope they can make me feeling wonderfully alive forever ? Watching the big waves of the sea. Collecting shells and wood.

Teach, Learn, Share

It's said that I can cook really nice things out of just a few simple/strange things..I can share with you ? :) (''just mix all your experiences with food, and some love'' and...tadaa! you can do it too :)). My partner sudied Bio Inspired Innovation and works with that. He can teach you a lot about healthy and sustainable things. He's always improving his knowledge and trying to be very critical and independent. Very worthfull.

Of course I can teach you some Massage Basics :).

What I Can Share with Hosts

There is at least for 2 persons the possibility to stay overnight; you can have a shower; sometimes I we have an extra bike and If I've the time I can show you around a little bit.
