About Me

Some people call me easy going, friendly, enthousiastic, caring, curious, a bit crazy. I think of myself of being empathetic, interested in people, absorbing environments, enjoying all food, curious about other experiences, loving my freedom of expression with the necessary thoughtfulness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To get to know people from anywhere, to learn from them, to show them around in Ostend, in Bruges, to let them enjoy Belgian Chocolates, cold beers & nice food. Letting people experience nature, especially @the North Sea.

Interests

Enjoying diner with friends, tasting all kinds of food and attending some cultural activities; I try to watch a non-commercial film on a weekly basis and I recently took up a hobby of mine (molding) after a period of 4 years of working in combination of studying for my master's degree. I seem to have a wonderful feeling towards the roaring twenties' style in clothing and housing.

Music, Movies, and Books

On one hand I love to listen to music of the fifty's, watching musicals, Opera, Cool & Latin Jazz, singing along with Motown Music (especially to Marvin Gaye) and dancing to funky music. On the other hand I used to be a fan of the Cure, U2, nowadays I like The Editors or electronic music.
Considering movies... my favorite is "Il Postino", but I also liked Dogville, Festen, Le Fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulain, Habla con Ella (I like Almodovar's work), Requiem for a Dream, The Hours and Frida. As a child I watched Star Wars and any sci-fi movie; an interesting picture, I find is "Soilent Green"(1973). I used to be fan of Dr. Who and Worsel Gummidge, Happy Days, Logan's Run, Scooby Doo and the Flintstones.
Books I like(d): Le Petit Prince (A. de Saint-Exupéry); Catcher in the Rye (J.D. Salinger), books of R. Musil, S. King, D. Verhulst, I. Allende. My favourite painters are Magritte, Esher, Vasarely, Dali, and I also like the work Gaudi and Horta.
