About Me

I'm an easy going person that has done quite a bit and seen quite a bit. Born and raised in the Southeastern United States on a farm. I've lived most of my adult life in Southern California. I've had the oppurtunity to travel around the majority of the US. Now I want to honestly travel abroad. I want to experience the different cultures of the world and make new friends that see the world differently.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The reason that I am Couchsurfing is that it seems like a very viable option for travelling on a budget and making new friends. It also seems like a great way to experience be within a new and different culture inside of looking at it from the outside in by doing the traditional method of staying in a hotel.

Interests

I'm interested in everything from sports, music, food (both cooking it and eating it), philosophy and writing. One of the newest things I've just started an interest in is photography. I think that it will be awesome to not only write about my travels, but have pictures to go along with the people and places.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a fan of many forms of music, but i'm picky about what I actually like. I'm a fan or real hip hop, rhythm and blues, pop, rock, country (only a few artist), samba, reggae, pagode, baile funk, jazz, classical and dance/electronic. I'm a huge movie fan. I like everything from romantic comedies to docu-dramas. I'm an Eric Jerome Dickey fan with novels. I also like almost any book on the US Navy seals, Dean Koontz, Dan Brown and even some of the older stuff by writers like Shakespeare and Homer. I'm all over the place when it comes things that I like. I have an appreciation for many different things that also includes art. Everything form Comic book art to Monet and Jackson Pollack.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once performed CPR on a gentleman that had a heart attack while driving. Me and another Navy guy was able to get into the car and get the man out where we performed CPR for over 10 minutes until paramedics from base and the fire dept arrived to take over. They were able to use defribulators and meds and finally got a heart beat and pulse. Unfortunately, gentleman didn't not make it to the hospital and was pronounced DOA. This is the thing that always sticks out for me for a couple of reasons. First, because there was no hesitation in performing the act of CPR, no nerves, just doing what we had been trained to do. Secondly, coming to the aid of a fellow human being and no one caring who they were helping. Thirdly, the profound feeling of actually making a difference.

Teach, Learn, Share

Whatever i know I'm willing to teach others. I'm always looking forward to learning new things. I don't have much but i'm always willing to share.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love talking about life experiences. What i've seen and done. I love cooking. I'm no stranger around the kitchen. I'm also a bartender so i'm adept to being a good host for parties. I'm clean, not a neat freak but i believe everything has it's place and things should be neat and liveable.
