Hello! I'm Kahlani 😊 I'm a 22 year old student in Melbourne, Australia. Last year I spent three months travelling through Egypt and Iran and absolutely fell in love with these two magical places and the friends I made there. It is these friends who made my time unforgettable and are the reason I want to keep going back. I want to make sure that you have the same experience if you come to Melbourne!
At university I am studying history, and in my own time I am trying to teach myself Arabic. I hope I can take you on adventures to explore all of the incredible nature there is to see, and try to make you feel at home 🌻

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think traveling is all about the incredible people you get to meet and delving beneath the tourist attractions of a city. For me, couch surfing is like a short cut to experiencing a place and all its secrets in a way you wouldn't be able to unless you'd lived there for years.

Music, Movies, and Books

For me, reading is like traveling in itself... Both across the earth, through time, or even to another world! I love reading history, but I love sci-fi and fantasy too. Some of the best books I've read lately are Brave New World and The Wind Up Girl.

Being in Iran also sparked a love for poetry in me. Everyone seemed to have their favourite poem which they could recite entirely. It was beautiful! It is these kinds of discoveries and experiences that have been my most treasured travelling memories.

And on the topic of meeting people from around the world, I think Before Sunrise would have to be one of my favourite movies.
