Hi, my name is Karin from Austria. I travel with my husband Karl (53). We are on a one-year-trip around the world. First we were cycling from Germany to Romania along the river Danube and we went on to Istanbul by bike. Then we flew to Tanzania and climbed Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro. Afterwards we spent one month on a camping trip through Namibia, Botswana, Sambia and Zimbabwe,... Uganda we travelled by local busses and boda-bodas. After some weeks in India we stayed three months in Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar, followed by Peru. Now we want to explore the US...

We are easy going, interested in other cultures and
nature protection.
We like to try and cook any new sort of food.
We love to be outside, doing camping, hiking, cycling...
We love talking about journeys and listening to your stories
We don`t smoke, bring no pets or kids and don`t drink more than necessary ;)

I am a translator for French and Karl is a lawyer who works for nature protection. We have two sons, who are adult now so we took the chance! We are on a Sabbatical for one year and we will be back to Austria in July.

We do a lot of sports. Nevertheless, we are not super-sporty, but we do everything in a very relaxed and slow way - we want to reduce speed and have fun!

As we don`t have a home for the moment, we can`t be hosts, but after our trip...

As we try Couchsurfing in the USA for the first time, we don`t have any references from hosts by now... But we got some references from people we met on our trip. And we also stayed with a Warm Showers host who gave us a positive recommendation. So our profile is 100 % complete. So - please give us a chance!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We want to meet new people! We want to see how you live, perhaps we could eat some typical food together. We want to know more about the countries we visit...
On our trip we always followed the advice of locals where to go and it was always great!! So we hope to get a lot of tips for our trip through the National Parks, Las Vegas and San Francisco. And we want to learn the "American way of life"...
