About Me

I was born and raised in Budapest! I've been always obsessed with music, and it possibly started with my parents singing in choirs and playing music at church all the time - kids copy. They made me go to a music-spec. elementary school where I took up piano, and no regrets about that! I used to play in some alternative and funk formations after that listening to jazz liberated me from the classical paradigm, hah, but now I'm still looking for bandmates in Leuven.

Okay, as for sports, I really tried a lot (wrestling, swimming, karate, whatnot) but I think hiking, cycling and yoga worked for me the best, and I'm already proud if I do any of that once a week actually.

I'm studying materials engineering at KU Leuven, Belgium, and will work in R&D of solar cells. I really liked my chemistry teacher in high school so I wanted to do something with that as a profession, but I'm not sure if it's a permanent thing because later I'd really like to try out more things, like pottery. I admire potters, and what they pot: kettles, mugs, vases especially!!

I think volunteering, community development and civil activism are very important things, so I do them whenever I can!

Personality traits: open-minded, thoughtful, proactive, spontaneous, talkative and all the rest

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I had amazing experiences so far with these fellows here, and when I rarely travel I prefer to meet up with the locals rather than live the luxurious tourist life, hhaha.

Music, Movies, and Books

as for music, I'm an omnivore, but I'd pick medieval choir music, jazz, and progressive rock should I move to a desert island with room for only three casettes in my backpack. The favourite director prize goes to Anders Thomas Jensen and if I read, I read mostly ancient Greek poetry or novels from the early modernism.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

when I had my last few days of a canadian summer school, I literally did not sleep for 5 days (farewell parties, then uncomfortable airline seat, then jet lag...) and survived just fine! Sometimes I still do silly things like that when deadlines overlap, but I'm getting older and weaker about it
