Let's be honest: lack of money. But staying for free somewhere with an annoying person would not worth it. So yeah, in the end it's good to get to know nice people as well.

Old Hungarian movies, 60s American movies, noir etc. Scandinavian crime movies and series.
Used to read a lot of Dean R. Koontz. Nowadays rather old literature: Sándor Márai, Gyula Krúdy, Dostoyevskiy.
