I love animals. I have developed a close connection with a herd of Bactrian camels in Northern CA where I live. You can find them by searching for Sacred Camel Gardens or Fear-No-More Zoo on the Google.

I have a regular spiritual practice which is at the core of my life. I love music, poetry, art, dancing, golf, and anything that falls into the realm of the Good, the True, and the Beautiful.

Here is what my dear friend, the Very Reverend Charles William Wells, maker of magic and spells, wrote about me, which I found to be very touching and would like to share:

"I believe Steven could equally be at home in a honky tonk bar or enjoy luncheon at the Harvard faculty club. He is great fun to be with, and though he is very intelligent and spiritual, he makes me feel like I too am intelligent and also way better than I really am."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Exploring it's potential for the first time....I have a friend who has met some interesting people hosting along the way.... I also feel it is a great way to meet people and extend our circles of connection and friendship. Exciting!!

I was also thinking how in traditional India, Sanyasins, (or people who have renounced conventional life, usually older men who have fulfilled regular life responsibility) are welcomed and given food and shelter in many households. So they are free to roam and live simply having basic needs taken care of by others. In some way, this is a modern version of the same thing. And I like it because it is about sharing, generosity, trust, and a general care for others. That seems wholly positive to me!

I believe in a wholly balanced and sane approach to living informed by an authentic understanding of the Divine, Reality, or whatever you like to call it. This understanding is not merely fancy philosophizing or limited to mind only....rather, this understanding is rooted in deep feeling and emotional conversion to life. All is Light right? 😀
