Overview
About Me
STATUS: I am out of town.
Right now, I live in a caravan in a land shared with more 2 families. You can sleep outside in a tent. I have a dry toilet outside, and shower (very improvised one, bucket with an installed shower (it gets more or less 8L inside) and the hot water is in 6L plastic bottles inside a small greenhouse . There's a small fridge and it's possible to cook, there's electricity inside the van, but no internet. It's not possible to wash clothes once I don't have a machine. The land is very beautiful, it's around 1.5h , the river passes by.
ABOUT ME: I am Inês Sambas, (you can call me Sambas), I am 28 years old and I have been living in Montemor-o-Novo.
I am a filmmaker and photographer, I also make design, I play guitar, bass, whatever, I build diy structures with wood, I started my agroforest, I collect wild seeds, I meditate, I am doer.
As a filmmaker I film old crafts, agroecological projects, tradicional music, video dance etc.
I found Montemor, travelling by bike, and I felt in love. It was my first stop and it was enough to say, this is where I want to live. Still, I travelled during a year, through Spain, France and then I flight to India. When I came back, I had no doubts about it, 3 years passed.
For whoever wants to come, just make sure you want to be on the nature as you would probably be in wild camping.
Montemor-o-Novo is a place full of creativity, beautiful people and surrounded by nature in Alentejo region, Portugal.
I am very happy to have a house where I can welcome everybody, after all these years sleeping in someone's house, being welcomed by so many people. Please be welcome, let's share!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Travel is what I think most. I have been using couchsurfing since 2016 maybe. I used it around Europe while I did interrail, or travelled by bike, and also in India, I met wonderful people, wonderful places, and for me it's the best way to travel, to meet local people, to share experiences, opinions, food, etc. Since I do it, I feel so happy for the hospitality of others that I immediately had the dream to receive others in my place to. Finally I can do it, even though is very primitive. I am also in other platforms I use a lot warmshowers, but also available on bewelcome and trustroots.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
-Travelling solo by bike from Portugal to France,
-Hitchhiking and meeting someone I can call today part of my family,
-Wild camping alone in the forest and listen the pure silence,
-Be in a free house in Portuguese forest with no signal, and a cold waterfall to wash and drink fresh water,
-Hitchhike to France to find work without any references,
-Living alone in a country with opposite values to mine etc.
